so I just got done getting a new battery, $100, fixing stupid evap code which i had to do smoke test, was front solenoid that was $380, now my heat just took a dumb on me and is blowing cold air! anyone know what it could be so when I call I can ask how much it will cost to repair those items to get my heat back up and running?!?! thank you!

Had same problem with my 08 grand prix I had air in my heater core line one hose was hot one was cold. Flushed the lines out with a garden hose got heat back. This happened to me a couple times then I just flushed the whole system and new coolent been ok for 2 years now

yup, if one or both heater hoses are cold the heater core is air bound. flush it with a garden hose, aka free.

wtf sensor was 380 bucks? not a cheap repair there.

My hoses are on the firewall behind altenator . I pulled them off the block they each have hose clamps on them not to hard to do.

off the middle of the fire wall your see two rubber hoses, follow them to the engine, take both hoses off the engine. then butt end to butt end put the garden hose to a one hose. when water comes out the other hose, your done. re install the hoses.

that guy in the vid dont even know wtf the blend door is, he was playing with the recirculate door up there on the pass side of the dash.

im sorry im still not fully understanding exactly what to do, can you step by step for me? confused about the water coming out? and if there are 2 hoses i have to get 2 hoses to do this? sorry

on your car is two black heater hoses that lead to the middle of the fire wall. follow them to the engine and un clamp them. then put a garden hose to one of the hoses, it matters not which one. when water comes out the other hose its flushing it. let it flow for 30 seconds or so, then switch hoses and back flow it, reinstall the two hose. your heat now works.

thats as step by step as i can go, this is pretty easy to do.

Best step by step there is.

okay, so after i unclasp both the hoses water is going to being running from them? is car on? do i have to do anything with heat? sorry rookie over here lol

car off. maybe some coolant will spill out, maybe not, dont matter.

first off locate said two hoses run the car till its temp is warm then touch the two hoses if both are hot its not the core.

if one, or both hoses are cold, its the core, continue with core flush. let the engine cool off before taking the hoses off.

Ok so I turned heat on full blast, pipes where warm, not hot tho, like I could sit and hold them, so def under 100* F, so I'll try the flush, but I do not hear the blend door open or shut when I switch to a/c either so maybe it's also that

Hope its not the thermostat, its a total pain to get to and is no fun to replace. i did the dex-cool flush and replace at 100k and did the thermostat as preventive maintenance.
