• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Basic Hop-Up

when you plug in the aeroforce gauge a lot of times it won't cycle on and off properly unless it has a source of power other than the obd2 port. many people use the add a circuit method and run a wire from the fuse block in the glove box to the gauge and take the jumper off the back of the gauge. when you have the gauge on, and set it up initially, you will need to push both buttons at the same time and a menu will appear. the aeroforce gauge has a lot functions, so scroll down to the one that says setup and use the button to select it. one button will scroll down, and the other button will select whatever is highlighted. when you are choosing what parameters to scan for, all you need to do is push the select button and an asterisk will appear next to the item. some parameters require additional sensors for functionality, like the oil pressure. when you are done setting up, cycle to the end of the parameter options and click exit. you will then see a page with an upper and lower parameter. one button will scroll through the upper parameter and the other button will scroll through the lower. It's really pretty easy to use, don't be nervous by all the directions.

Because Osiris and import I'm assuming. I didn't think it'll be that much so I was upset when I found out lol

And all this time I'm thinking Josh charged you $500 and I laughed and laughed and laughed and laughed some more.

Thanks SgtMarshal. I figured out how to use the scanner just by messing with it a few days ago. What I meant was a tutorial to recalibrate the crank/cam sensors. Do I go into settings, find the correct task and press it? Or do I need to mess with the sensors and have the motor at TDC or something, then assess the scanner?

It will tell you what to do. It's super basic.

With the car already warm and what not, you'd select the case learn from the options and follow what it says. It'll have you rev the motor from idle up to redline/fuel cut and let off the pedal. Don't stab the gas to redline, just do it at a steady pace. Once you hit/hear the fuel cut/rev limiter you let off the gas and as the RPM's fall back to idle the computer is watching the crank and cam sensors/signals and does it magic to make sure they know where each other are.

PCM came in today. Tried doing the Case Relearn, but the car wasn't running warm enough. I'll have to do it tomorrow after school. I only drove it a few miles, but I already like it.

My Grand Prix has been running great. Last thing in line for me to do is change the transmission fluid and filter. I received some Acdelco fluid from my cousin who just so happens to work at the local GM dealership in town. I ordered a filter, gasket, and a Transgo shift kit, waiting on everything in the mail. From my understanding the Transgo kit isn't exactly made to bark the tires or anything. It's more manufactured for a slightly firmer up and down shift, to minimize friction on the clutches, without sacrificing wear on hard parts. My dad's Oldsmobile Aurora has the same transmission and he was having issues with hard or prolonged shifts, he replaced solenoids and put this shift kit in. It shifts great now. A friend of mine had a late 90's Grand Prix GT and it wouldn't shift into 3rd. I helped replace all the solenoids and it never fixed it. Just because I see a pattern of transmission issues I figured i might as well do it as preventative maintenance. Anything else I should do while I have the valve body exposed? Drill out all the holes to get more flow??? That adds horsepower because the motor doesn't have to work as hard to build pressure right? JUST KIDDING

Yesterday I threw a P1133 code. From my understanding that's the header 02 sensor. I imagine it's from not having a cat and what not, but im not sure. I cleared it and it hasn't came back, I figured I check with the experts though.

If you haven't had the code set to no report with no converter, and the car being an '03...it's going to go through it's cat diagnostics and dump fuel.

And it'll be a slow turd.

You can't do that with '01+ cars without tuning them.

i can fix that for ya if you like. only you'll need to to send me your pcm. 01 up pcm's have a issue with setting the vin in the pcm's ive found.

pm for details if you like. you'll still pass your obd2 inspection. aka when they plug in to the car and scan it. will show all systems ready. all they care about.

Changed my transmission fluid and filter, as well as installed the Transgo Shift Kit. I'm happy with it. Instructions were well detailed, and it was a simple task. It gives a hair firmer of an upshift, but down shifting is where it's most noticeable. I also ordered some oval exhaust tips that are 5 3/8" X 3", halo fog lights, and some white led strips to put behind the grille. Saturday my fog lights should arrive, so I'll give it a good wash and show everyone what I've been working with.

i spoke to him, said its got a overkill tune in it already. no idea if he asked for the cat test to be killed or not, or if will does that with out being asked or not.
