hey y'all as you can tell im new hear. well ill get right to it. im buying a gxp and i wanna twincharge it. If you dont know what this is... i dont want your help. any expert advice is welcome and none will be ignored. keeping in mind im not rich but im willing to do it right .

just the sc setup for the LS4 is gonna run you about 4-5k

then a turbo setup on top of it....even if you did a rear mount setup with no custom exhaust headers for an engine bay turbo so figure another 3k on top of that.

then figure on you having to beg us, or one of the other 6 guys, to sell you a fully built, full GMR parts equipped trans for about 10k

the cost to twincharge a GTP (factory SC v6) is about 3k then that means you only have to dump about 3-6k on the trans or 800$ a year for unlimited mileage towing....cause the trans gonna be broken alot.

so yeah, basically, the trans sucks, your gonna dump at least as much $ into it as you do the engine....if not more

just realise that whatever SC setup you get for the ls4 (either roots/whipple or centrifugal) they will be designed for RWD setups/engines and youll be throwing away portions of the kit and custom making new stuff to work with the shorter LS4 only belt drive.

all in all your best bet is just doing a custom turbo setup and then spending a year of house payments on a decent trans

Simple answer is no. No way you can twin charge a Grand prix GXP for $6,000 and have it be work without a hitch.

Unless you have a free turbo, free blower and free extra parts and so on along with tons of fab time.

For the money your looking at spending here, go buy an ls1 Camaro and turbo that. It will be WAY more effective.
unless your just looking at doing something unique with the car, its really not worth it to twin charge.

Your posts are all wrong he IS buying a GXP so stay on topic. He only wants expert advice on how to twin-charge it. Nothing else
geesh can't you guys read ??? Smh....

Turbo kit. The reason why no one supercharged the ls4 is because of our single accessory belt setup, and lack of clearance between the frame rail and balancer. So using a standard ls crank pulley is out the window.

I figured since twin charging was 2 power adders, than nitrous and a turbo could be loosely considered twin charged.

it really doesn't make a lot of sense to twincharge a car that has a transmission that will break sooner than later. a built 4T65e is going to hold no more than 550-600 with the rare and expensive gmr parts, and a turbocharged LS4 will make 500 with no problem, and that's without any engine mods.
