New injectors... 60's or 80's?

Solving problems
Is it possible to have too big of an injector?

I'm looking to upgrade injectors soon. 60's will probably handle any setup I put together, but... Is there any good reason not to go for the 80's? There is a minimal price difference, and for that little extra cost, I would be guaranteed to never outgrow them. Plus, I can only imagine they would fetch a higher price when I eventually de-mod.

Current setup:
42.5lb injectors
E82
3.0" Pulley (looking to go sub 3")

I think a lot of people that run a 2.55-2.8 Gen v FSIC setups are fine on 60s. Id imagine youd need 80s with a turbo setup running high(ish) boost.

80's

we're at the limits of ours with e85 at our next pulls with the TR

I have 60's in my turbo wagn and wish I had went with 80's

we got the riv to run on 160's

So it sounds like I'll be needing the 80's.

I'm still curious about having a larger injector than needed. Hypothetically, would you see any driveability issues if you ran 80's on a stock setup with gas? (Assuming you adjusted the tables in the tune for the proper injector size.)

With an m90, you probably wouldn't ever need 80's, unless you do a big cam and ic.

Idle might be a little bit rougher with 80's, but not much.

Which is an eventual possibility for me. The reason I ask is because for the extra $30 up front, it would be nice to not have to worry about injectors if/when I get to that point.

I can deal with that. You're saying the pulse width can go short enough that it won't go rich at idle?

Sorry if this is a dumb question. I've just never seen it discussed before. Like with a carburetor, you want to make sure you have the proper size because they have very defined limits, but does the same apply with injectors?

It probably will run somewhat rich at idle. You may notice more misfires, but it's not going to be a huge difference.

E85 and no drivability issues, related to injectors anyways. Im also running a walbro 400. Reptile has done all the adjustments to my tune.

This has me leaning toward the 80's. Although our top end fueling requirements would be different, idle conditions should be the same, and that's where my concern is.

Thanks for the feedback.
