Re: 1997 Black GTP - Fall Photos.
Havent posted on GPF in weeks. Small update I guess.
Gave the car a nice Polish and Wax, will do one more Wax before winter sets in:
In the sun, like glass:
And have to include Gas Cap rust here, but the paint looks killer:
Finally picked up the new winter rims. Before:
After:
I hate ZZP wires. Gave me nothing but troubles and misfires. Went back to stock wires.
Came off the plug and melted on the header. This is the second time:
I also picked up a new painted from bumper. The ad was misleading and said it was OEM with the arrowhead indentation between the grilles. Really wanted that. When I received it, no indentation and paint was kinda half-assed. Paid $300 for it. Ended up getting a $150 refund and kept the bumper after talking with the company.
I might try to create my own arrowhead indentation with my dremel, and really give the front bumper a good polish and wax to help remove any minor imperfections. Still looks better than the current bumper I have now, because I've been hit in the front 3 times now in one month. Talk about furious.
Next, here's another pull video I did. Found out my TB was hitting the Northstar cable bracket when opening and only opening 75%. Car makes 12.5psi on the 3.1 pulley now. (Moved from the 3.0 as I was making 14psi and that was to high for me).
Moves pretty good, as I really have to ease into the throttle as I will just spin. Couldn't hammer it until 40+ mph:
LAST BUT NOT LEAST.... I've never considered selling my car so much as I have now. I'm completely over all the small things wrong with the car, (fighting a slight misfire like no other, and a new suspension problem). It's old with almost 200,000 miles. So I got a second job as a Welder & Metal Fabricator, so with more income I am highly debating parting out the car and pulling out a loan for either a 98 - 02 (2000+ Preferably) Trans Am WS6 or an 05-06 GTO.
The sytling of the Ws6 has my heart. Pure sex, even in stock form. GTO's are a bit newer, and have the LS2 which is quite big difference compared to the LS1. Either way, you can't go wrong with either motor. For power, Goat > Trans am. For looks, Trans am > Goat. It's a tough decision.
