CV half shaft assembly - abs ring not included?

Hello,

I'm about to buy a new front left transaxle and some product descriptions say it doesn't come with an abs ring. Can I swap the abs ring over or is it part of the assembly?

The ABS is built into the hub bearing, I don't recall seeing one on the axle and I just changed both of mine.

I don't remember seeing a ring on my 01, or the 07 i did axles on. I didn't see one on this 06 equinox that i just put both front axles in. I may be missing something, but to me i would order the cheapest one, look on ebay, or amautoparts.com or primechoice auto parts. Be alot cheaper if you can wait a few days to do it, you could even get the axle out, and have it ready for it when it comes in mail. I save 50% or so on my parts, instead of going into town and getting the part, i wait for it to come in the mail. No longer than a week that I have waited, unless the seller messed my order up then i just ask for a partial refund if it does not come by the estimated ship date.

Axle are cheap enough to just but then locally.. That way warranty exchanges are a piece of cake when/if it goes bad again. I never understood ordering something like that and paying shipping.. Sure you may save a few bucks but then your SOL when it comes to warranty.

I just replaced hubs myself, a word of advice,,, don't get the cheapest one you can find unless you want to replace them again 6 mo to a yr later... I drive like a maniac. So I'm hard on the hubs anyway and I get they will always wear out, this I understand but the ones that come with the car lasted almost 100k miles! Spend money to get something worth the time it'll take to replace them...

really old advice lol

Anyone who has been on this forum more than a few days should have read that advice by now. The problem is there are quite a few people whom choose to ignore that advice.

I bought the autozon cv axales and now am worried after reading about cheap axles from these post i got there 80 dollar rebuild axle, but so far all is good 5 months later.

For all those who buy the cheap autozone parts. Only replace the one that is broke! Chances are good that the new cheap won't last as long as the other sides original equipment.
