Looking for new Rotors/Pads what kind should I get?

If you just want cheap and something that works, go with new stock rotors and upgraded pads.

Or upgrade the fronts to F-body or impala front brakes and have better stopping power.

Slotted and drilled rotors won't really make a world of difference, maybe in a track condition sure but overall the stopping power comes from the pads and calipers.

^This^. If you're on a budget like most of us this is the way to go. You can score the Imp setup (calipers, brackets and bolts) from a junkyard and then just get new rotors/pads. Direct fit as long as you don't have the crosslace wheels on your GP. I did this upgrade but without the stainless lines, just installed new stock lines. Running R1 Concepts blanks (solid rotors) and Wagner Thermoquiet ceramic pads. The stopping power is much better than stock. I drive a lot and have had to slam the brakes several times due to idiot drivers and have never had an issue. In fact, I've never even had the ABS kick in. Haven't pushed em that hard yet I guess.

FYI, if you upgrade to the larger brakes and get a flat on a front tire you will have to pull a rear tire and put it on the front, and then put the spare on the rear as the stock spare will not clear the upgraded brakes. Small price to pay for better braking IMHO.

I was looking at some on Ebay... 1 set was drilled only, another was drilled and slotted and I know nothing about the brand although one of them had a fancy youtube video.

Here they are

which ones do u think I should buy if any?

I just need something cheap yet effective.

Just need a a simple replacement part. Not looking for a major DIY project. I'm buying rotors to replace my warped ones and having my local mechanic swap them out for me. Anyone know if the ones I bought are good?

So you made a thread about asking what you should buy or other options but instead just bought stuff on ebay anyway??

Was this thread even worth it?

You kinda got hoses if you bought either really, if you were looking for "cheap" and affective. Because stock rotors from a napa would have more than fit the bill. Last time I checked, fronts were 30-40 each and rears are 25-30 each and alot of places have coupons for buying over $100.

On my last brake job I put in Wagner ceramic pads, and have Aimco rotors in the front. They work well, but nothing special. The ceramic pads are great as they leave very little brake dust.

And I'm supposed to know what a "Napa" is because...?

So did you end up getting them? How do you like their performance. The
R1 Concepts and Powerstop are good brands also.

eBay rotors you say?
Here is some eBay rotors because you know , cheap is good right?

if you want a "good" deal / use eBay or online sites but make sure it's a reputable company like R1 concepts

these eBay rotors are absolute fawking garbage

Have you ever heard of Autozone?

A great source for brakes is Rotors Online, I have never seen a Rotorsonline rotor fail, I have however seen three different R1 concept rotors crack.

The cheapest and most effective upgrade you can make as others have stated with almost no additional effort is a quality performance brake pad ( I have used Performance Friction for all of my 2001 GP 180,000 miles...from day one when I picked up the car new from the dealer) with a quality rotor. I just recently did a brake change at 170,000 miles and bought the 2001 impala caliper brackets ($20 from rockauto) and 2 2001 Impala 12 inch high Carbon Alloy Centric slotted rotors and reused the OEM GP caliper. Big difference in braking....Drilled and/or slotted rotors will significantly improve braking in the rain...

Another vote for the Impala front brake upgrade! Order parts for a 2006 Impala 5.3L V8. You will need the caliper, bracket, rotor, and pads. The reman caliper comes with the bracket and bolts. Need to take your stock brake line and bend the fitting a little to line up on the Impala caliper. Easy. Bleed the brakes (which you should do every three years per SAE standards) and good to go. I ordered my parts off Rockauto but some pull from a JY.
