• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Yep, I'm a complete and total idiot for thinking my oil and coolant are mixing.

Wait, I missed when we discussed how you pull a tstat from a motor with needle nose pliers, then reuse it? I farted on my intake to give my car gas, turns out all that does is makes the car run like crap... badum cha.

lunch time.

Well you see when you don't use a gasket for the thermostat it can lead to overheating. The coolant will escape and run down the engine block. At this point you will notice the car over heats a lot. That's because as your coolant ran down the engine block, it then leaked it's way into the oil pan. The oil pan gasket lets coolant in but not out. It's a special GM gasket. Very expensive.

The steering rack can be fixed easily. Lean over the engine , place both hands on the cowl just below the windshield. Have a buddy use a bottle or 2 of power steering fluid , apply liberally to a bag of dicks, and proceed to shove them up your ass one at a time until fixed

And what scotty said

I see what you did there. I'll buy the rack myself and have either the dealership for firestone put them on. WP is easy. I'll keep the bag of dicks trick in mind in the event that I want to do it myself.

I've done it before, grasp it right at the top of the thermostat where the rod is. Given how hard it was to remove it I should've just went and bought a new one from Napa instead of cheaping out and throwing a new gasket on it before reinstalling.

thats for you, supply your own lube.

racks, ive done a few, to bad im telling you how to swap one.......to hard for you anyways, the fluid from the rack and p/s pump may get into the tranny or something.

FWIW.. you may want to do a bit more research. The heater has nothing to do with coolant flow, because this is not an import and there is no valve to close off the heater core from the circuit when heat isn't selected.

As for the water pump.. you'd be replacing a perfectly good part. At this point your paranoia about the coolant in oil etc is off the charts.

Stop touching the car.. it's fine.

I must admit that Bill and Scotty were right, oil can not mix into the coolant, even the dealership looked at me funny when I told them that was what was happening. Looks like I had Dex Sludge, so I am going to go pay the dealership to do my LIM because I shouldn't touch any tools.

Thanks for the help guys! I know I am hard headed and don't listen, I was embarrassed and started to delete all my posts so none of my friends could find out the stupidity I put upon them with a car worth $500.

Here's a cool thing.. I've been helping you nicely and now you are being a dick to me. So Temple of Doom ... you can now go eat dick.

As well you were talking in the posts you deleted about "All I have left is the water pump. Turns out I don't have to remove the power steering, just the pulley. 2-3 bolts and then I can get the front cover off the WP." Yes eat a dick because you deleted it and most can't see it, I can and now so can everyone else.

You are flapping your gums about swapping a water pump for no reason. And if you used the search button or Google, you'd know that the ps pump has to come off. Because you aren't going to get the pulley off it w/o at least lowering it down. Hence unbolting it from the engine/removing it. Thanks for playing the game of "being a dickhead on the internet", you are part of the problem with the world.

Here's the ego bit of the post.. I'm BillBoost, that guy over there eating dicks.. he's ScottyDoggs.

With that.. you are also history.
