2000GTP

i want to get a wizaired intake, and i just wanted to know if one of those huge k&n filters that come with k&n's FIPK 2 intake would fit in the wizaired box? I had the k&n FIPK2 on my last GTP... and i will say i was happy with it, just didnt like the fact that it wasn't a true cold air. It looked pretty sick under the hood as well. }i was torn between getting that 1 again or the Wizaired.

get a 9" AEM cone, i dont like k&N at all, only way i would run a K&N is if i was running an open cone setup.

The oil in the filter.

K&N has never been provided any evidence of a MAF sensor being fouled by filter oil regardless of how much oil was used on the filter. We have tested over 100 MAF sensors allegedly harmed by filter oil and have yet to find any trace of filter oil on the sensors. What we did find was that 60% of the sensors in question were performing perfectly with no defect and had in fact been misdiagnosed. 18% of the sensors had complete electronic failures in no way due to contamination while 22% were out of tolerance. Again not a single one had a trace of filter oil on it. For more information on this issue and K&N’s consumer protection pledge go to K&N Mass Air Flow Sensor Test Results. K&N is proud to have complete quality control by doing our testing, development and manufacturing in the USA. Not only have we sold in excess of 20 million air filters worldwide but we continue to be used by many top racing teams including the winners of the 2007 Baja 1000 and Baja 500 (and the 2008 Daytona 500).

Well don't that just beat all...K&N joined the GP community LOL

Not to say that your testing and such is wrong...but I did lose a Delphi MAF to K&N Filter oil...I wish I had a picture of the MAF but I guess I never thought of taking one...I had let it sit out for at least 12 hours in the sun to let dry and I didn't use any other form of drying methods...I turned the filter over and such every hour or so, so the sun could get on all of it but I guess all that did was let what oil was in the filter still...run towards the bottom. I am not by anyway knocking the K&N brand as I never had anything but success and great life from the filters I have had in the past on other cars...I just went and got a dryflow filter from O'Rielly's and it flows better than any other filter I have ever had.
