The most ruined GP ever

ive had this truck in water over the hood, and over the tops of the window sills, my windshield turned into a bow. up to the top of the side mirrors. thats like 5 foot deep almost?

not a drop got inside either. i really thought i was in trouble when the ass started to float lol but i had it in 4wd and was power braking it through the whole way. front diff did get water in it tho.

this is why we can't have nice things

you should never drive through water like that.
Never drive through shallow standing water? Boring! LOL

I've been in water over the hood many a time. More often the water was over the tires, so no biggie. My buddy did this.....

We asked him what he was thinking, and he had no reply. LOL

I did lock a motor on this pass....

i had the diffs fluid changed at a lube express my friend used to manage, cost me 5 bucks a rear. aka tip to the guy working on it. miss that gig.

i got free tranny flushes too. went every year. because i bought that truck new. and i put 30,000 miles a year on it.

the truck before it i put 175,000 on it in 5 years.

and you didn't lock the motor? I've seen people lose motors in less water than you described. Crazy.

Man did you dodge a bullet. I was on the throttle when mine happened. Air filter got pushed out of the way so the pudding could do its damage......

you only got a little water in there lol. enough to bend that rod it seems......that does suck.

a bunch of us went on a recovery mission to get a friends truck out of a swamp puddle he tried to get through. he made it to the middle and it locked up. he just left it there. 4 of use with trucks went back to drag him out, right there on the side of the trail, we pulled the plugs and dumped the oil.

then it would not crank, so off to the store for a new starter, then we cleared it out, and it fired right up. did another oil change and he drove it home. it all worked out for him.

I'm sure you "properly" disposed of that oil......Right?

truth is, we did bring a drain pan. and we used it. nothing like getting caught doing that by the forest cops. that were there when we showed up, first words out their mouths was, is this yours? it needs to go, like right meow! lol

so the owner of the truck walked into the puddle ( once more time mind you) and hooked up the chain lol

I've seen many connecting rods get bent from sucking in water.

One guy IK put a crapload of suspension parts and a snorkel in his Nissan Pathfinder to go muddin'... Well 2 days later he tipped it and the side with the snorkel went into the water and he had a rod knocking lol. I **** you not.

He learned the hard way that snorkels only work when they suck air from up high. LOL
