I recently acquired a 2001 GTP. I am aware of most of its history but not everything.

The problem. I was driving and noticed that the HUD was displaying km/h instead of mph. I reached over to the DIC and realized all the lights on it were off. I pressed the Eng/Met button and it just beeps, the hud temporarily displayed mph but reverted back to km/h after releasing the eng/met button. I then pressed every button on the DIC and all it does is beep at me, no lights on the display at all. Does not matter which button I press. Eng/met, reset, mode, tcs, does not matter just beeps.

There are some mods but not sure if they would have any bearing on this.

I doubt it. The HUD/DIC have never really worked on mine since I bought it 8 years ago and never caused any other issues.
 


Ok, so I spring for replacing the unit. Found one on ebay for $35. Now, things are a little different. I can press the buttons and it does not beep at me anymore. There are still no display lights, the buttons are backlit but nothing on the display. It does allow the HUD to show in MPH instead of KM/h, unlike before.

This car has had a smaller SC pulley on it, along with a different computer to compensate for the pulley. Would this have any affect on the DIC.
