2000 GTP: Still Alive! New Trans?

Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.

Hell the car looks fine to me as is. Then again I'm more of a function over form kinda guy.

Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.

That's another option for sure. To tell you the truth, I just don't see solid white happening on the hood, I was some contrast...but I don't want rice\tacky\overdone. I really like the black as it sits now but I'd like to try something else, and the hood needs repainted. If I do go black on the roof, trunk, and spoiler, I think I'll also wrap the pillars and get some black side mirrors. Decisions, decisions. Damn.

I'd also have to figure out the sun roof. It sticks when opening now just when it first opens, then it moves fine. I've tried adjusting it and it makes no difference, I think it's just the part of the track that moves the window up has play in it. I'd bet that if I wrapped the roof in vinyl the sun roof would peal it up or wear through it pretty quickly.

Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.

I'm full of coffee now, so I'd like to retract my previous "like". Hood and spoiler black, rest of car white. Final answer!

Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.

I think my car is nicer than a cop car, lol. At least I don't have black door handles, door trim, etc. I do plan on getting roof rails if I can ever find a descent price.

Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.

the gf and I have been having similar discussions on what to do with my hood color. I believe I have it ironed out tho.

Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.

She likes it how it is. She agrees with repainting it and all since it has the chips and all that, but she thinks it should stay black.

Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.

You gotta admit the theme could easily become cop-esque, but no Booba yes your ride is nicer than the bluesmobile. It has cop brakes or something though, right? I still want a good pic to edit so I can show you an idea. Time is tight though, and I can prolly find a pic when I get to it. The current scheme really doesn't trouble me visually but black spoiler is unusual. IMO these cars look good with flames if you wanna be loud about it. Personally I think you'd do well to pursue the muscle look of the 5 spoke rims. I have a few ideas... but its perfect weather I'm headed outside

Re: 2000 GTP: Relay Addiction.

I really don't think the black hood looks that bad, lol. You say it looks like it was in an accident, but it's not primered, it's a glossy black lol. That and I have the whole black\white thing going under the hood and such. Might be my car's theme song:

At least it's black.

We can agree on that.. I rather it be black then green, red etc

I say accident victim like what you generally see when someone gets in a accident and either a) they have no insurance or b) pocketed the money where they attempt to repair their own vehicle using mismatched parts... Red car, green bumper, blue mirrors, silver doors etc.

Here's your theme song
