Re: 1997 Black GTP - Intercooler Core Installed.

Little update.

Josh and I "fixed" the cruise KR issue. We were able to successfully shut off the Knock Sensors below 3k RPM, but we think we have pinpointed the issue. The 3-4 shift "errors" out and takes 6 seconds to shift, according to DHP. So we believe, my 186k miles stock Valve Body is taking a poo on me. Which is causing some unwanted noise the sensors are picking up, maybe? Anywho, I think it's time to start saving for a TEP Valve Body.

Good news though, I got the rest of the intercooler kit. I haven't driven the car in 4 days, and when I do, I take it quite easy on the car. I'm not trying to warp the intercooler core from to much heat with no coolant running through it. I plan installing the rest of the kit this upcoming weekend.

Rest of the kit I got for a killer price. Comes with a brand new ZZP FMHE, Cobalt Fill Kit, 12 feet of hose, brand new fittings and hose clamps, relay kit for the pump, and I also bought the Bosch pump bracket and new pigtail harness for it.

I was also able to borrow my friend Belt Wrap kit. Bought it brand new, painted it, but hasnt installed it. Been sitting in his garage for 2 months now so I asked if I could use it until he wanted to finally install it himself. So in the meantime, I'm running the WBS Belt Wrap kit to clear the coil pack bracket until I hopefully buy my own because I love the look of it. Just cant fathom spending $150 on a piece of metal and a pulley.

Re: 1997 Black GTP - Intercooler Core Installed.

I'm not to worried about the transmission. When driving normally, it seems to shift fine most of the time. You can tell the 3-4 shift is slow and doesn't want to downshift soon enough but it doesn't bother me too much. I'll slowly just start putting money aside for a TEP Valve body.

In the mean time, I'm itching to get this intercooler kit completely installed.

You're tell me, man.

When I buy my own, it's staying polished.

Toss his in paint thinner polish it up and be like oh yeah I gave it back to you when you were drunk that one time this is my own lmfao

Of course you do.

Who the hell paints aluminum.. Lol. Beltwrap looks cool but to expensive for my taste maybe around BF or so I'll snatch one up.

That is one damn sexy car. Holy sh*t, bravo man. I literally love everything you did with this car. Looks great!

Thanks man, appreciate the compliment.

I would mind the color if the maroon part was red to match my engine bay, I don't think it would look bad at all but like you said, it breaks my heart to paint such pretty aluminum.

I also can't fathom spending $150 on a piece of metal with a pulley on the end, but it looks badass and I need it to clear the coil pack bracket. So I may just buy my own. Ugh... So. Much. Money.

Nothing a grinder and drill can't take care of and won't cost $150 to do so :) tell me about it IC setup aren't cheap ya kno.

Re: 1997 Black GTP - Intercooler Core Installed.

I already tried cutting off the corner of the metal bracket underneath the ICM, and the belt still didn't clear. Was hitting the ICM still, so now I either need to cut the coil pack bracket itself to shift it over to the drivers side a bit or buy a belt wrap. Hmmm decisions.

Do work, or spend money?

Spend money on tep valve body

Do work on coil pack the Billboost way
