GM should've put baffles in the gas tanks...

SubwayGuy

Who is this guy?
When I'm at 1/8 of a tank of gas and I have to hit the brakes hard for a yellow light or something, I watch my gas needle drop below E. Eventually it's gonna cut out one of these times. To avoid this problem, I run red lights :P (only when my tank's low). But they should've put something in the gas tank to avoid the gas pooling in one end or the other.

Well if its a metal tank, you can always do the marble-mod. Go to dollar tree get a funnel and 4-5 bags of marbles. Pour into gas tank. This will increase your fuel pressure and help clean the tank as the marbles react/mix with the gas whenever you stop and go.

lol that just your level sender getting splashed around. you'll get gas right up till its almost dry.

stop running the tank so low, its not good for the pump really.

Wouldn't you hear *rattle rattle rattle* when you drive and go over bumps? It also doesn't seem like a good idea to begin with. Sorry lol.

if its sucking air its empty.

when my low fuel light comes on the first time on flat ground, i have 4 to 5 gallons in the tank still. best way to test this on your car is to run it till the light comes on, then top it off. note the gallons pumped, you have a 17 gal tank. ive never put more then 12 to 14 gallons in even when i was on the E line pretty much.

17.5 actually lol. But you never truly fill up your tank as there's still room on the top so it's not actually 17.5. It's maybe a gallon less. You have to account for vapor. I'm too concerned about how much I have when my light comes on, I just wanna know how far the needle goes down before it dies. It went below the E line yesterday and it still ran, so I think I'm good lol.

like i said, run it low and fill it to the top. then you know whats left in the tank.

Try and fill up your gas tank to the point where gas just comes out the fill cap and we'll see. That's why the gas pump stops.

you cant fill it to the top, you need to learn how the tank, and the gas pump works.

go look under your car up to the gas filler neck, tell us what you see? how many hoses? fat one is the fill, small one is the vent. once the pump stops, your tank is as full as its gonna get with out filling the filler neck and vent.

my bad too, fill to the top, i mean fill the damn tank. it clicks off, you click the pump to a round dollar like the rest of the free world does lol

thats a full tank.

I jack my car up on one side when I get gas so I can get it all the way to the rim... You know just like the coffee Brim.

i got 35.5 into a 34 gallon tank on my gmc, but i also ran out of gas as i pulled up to the pump lol i was pushing it big time. then i stalled at the light as i got off rt 80. i had to make it 5 blocks, so id goose the gas and shut it off and coast light to light, it shuddered to the pumps and died lol
