2000 GTP: Still Alive! New Trans?

Re: 2000 GTP: Go-go-gadget-Grand Prix!!!

Replacement ballast in on it's way, It was a pretty easy process. They sent me picture of how to break the connectors off and show what all they needed a picture of so I did it all, called back and I'm done. They said it'll ship out today and it's in Atlanta, GA so I should have it by Wednesday.

The first guy said "The XB35? We almost never have problems with those anymore"

Re: 2000 GTP: Go-go-gadget-Grand Prix!!!

Not yet, gotta pay bills out of these checks. It'll be next week or two before I buy anything extra. There's also rumors of being laid off a week, which would suck.

Re: 2000 GTP: Go-go-gadget-Grand Prix!!!

Shoot man I would hold off on everything until those rumors are all gone. Luckily I don't have to worry about lay offs but I definitely understand having to wait on things. My wife stays at home with the chirrrens....at least I think because she seems to rack up more miles than I do lol.

Re: 2000 GTP: Go-go-gadget-Grand Prix!!!

Hey boobs I gotta pick your brain for a second. So you know the "flash to pass" on the multifunction switch and how it only works when the lights are off. As in you pull the switch back but not enough to make it click and it flashes the highs. But when the lights are on it doesn't work like that it only flashes highs if you click it all the way back. Think it might be possible to have it work like it does with the lights off when they are on? I hope that makes sense. I was thinking you might habe thought of this already

Re: 2000 GTP: Go-go-gadget-Grand Prix!!!

We get laid off a few days here and there this time of year. That's why I'm working such weird hours this week. I went in and worked 7:30PM to 4AM last night, 3:30PM-4AM the next 2 days, then 11:30AM-Midnight Wednesday lol. 44 hours in a little over 3 days. Russo, I'm not sure what you mean, I'll have to mess with the car on Thursday and see what you mean, I haven't paid attention to the behavior lol. I did just think about rerouting the flash to pass to the fog lights...until I get HIDs there...

Re: 2000 GTP: Go-go-gadget-Grand Prix!!!

Hey Slowkar's flash-to-pass isn't working properly if not flashing highs when DRLs or low beams are on. Double-check me but I referenced my 02 owner's manual to be sure before speaking. Fogs should flash off too, I believe.

Booba the grind sucks don't it? Oddball shifts would eat my lunch dude, hope yer work stays steady enough. Some days off in summer ain't all terrible as long as you got chow. Play if you ain't workin, I say.

On the whole headlight output mission, my finger hovers over the abort button personally. But the OE lamps are only good for maybe 45 MPH on bright, even in decent condition and "aimed" (like a shotgun). I can't stand the throw away and buy new approach knowing that, HIDs appear to be a pain from where I sit, and I know I could make fiberglass shells over the existing HL lenses and mount them solid and saw out holes for a PAIR of some kind of REAL headlights for each side. Ones with glass that mount on buckets. Laugh-and-point-worthy maybe, but the GM mount design idea must have been hatched at the Mickey Mouse club too. Doing better would be like winning a cake walk at a choir fundraiser lol.

sry boobs that was prolly over 2 cents worth of yak and only worth half that!

Re: 2000 GTP: Go-go-gadget-Grand Prix!!!

Eh failures happen, I'm going to chaulk this one up to my luck. If the next one fails we'll have problems and I'll find a way to upgrade to something more reliable. You should see the Retro's in person IDJ, it'd change your mind. Everyone though both of them were working when only 1 was on (halo still worked so you had to look to see if was off).

Re: 2000 GTP: Go-go-gadget-Grand Prix!!!

Aw I could tell from your way back pics that theres no substitute for the HIDs output-wise. It just does suck that no matter where you are, everything is somewhere else and nothing is right up the street. Even three cent stuff has to cross an ocean before you can see it, y'know? Irritating and counter-intuitive to men who can fix things. Try getting anything for a 69 GP at any local parts store. Voodoo required just for oil!

Re: 2000 GTP: Go-go-gadget-Grand Prix!!!

I heard that! That's why I bought a W-body. For the most part I'm a JY type of guy and needless to say there are a bunch of W-bodies there, lol.

Re: 2000 GTP: Go-go-gadget-Grand Prix!!!

Good news, I just found out there's an 80% chance we are working Thursday, so that'll make it 56 hours in 4 days. What's this sleep thing I keep hearing about?

Re: 2000 GTP: Go-go-gadget-Grand Prix!!!

Do it while it's there, is what I say. I had a trip that was supposed to be a 6 man crew to work one week. Ended up being a 2 man crew and I had to call in a 3 man group of iron workers to help out I ended up doing 86 hours that week. Makes a nice check, but I was worn out.

Re: 2000 GTP: Go-go-gadget-Grand Prix!!!

That's true but it was still a heck of a check. As long as I don't go over about 15 hours a week it's a nice check. When I travel it's door to door so a lot of days I get paid to travel without actually doing any real work other than having to deal with the whole traveling thing, and it does suck to travel.

Re: 2000 GTP: Go-go-gadget-Grand Prix!!!

It's not all that bad. A few weeks back I put in 48 hours and my take home was $535 for the one week. Out in Phoenix I made a lot more money, but her it's "descent" money I guess.
