05' GTP Where should my temp grade read

I have recently had some overheating problems. Radiator was completely gunned so I had to flush it. Doing so cause some leaks I have fixed. I have cleaned it out, refilled, filled overflow to the line on the bottom, held a few times at operating temp with heat on. My gauge has no numbers just lines. It is getting north of the big line a little over the middle. Feels like it is too hot to me. Not in the red, but only like 3 or 4 ticks away. Anyone have a picture of where in the lines it should hover at operating temperature? I also see people say to top off overflow? Should I have the overflow filled over that line on the bottom?? Thanks is advance for any help.

best to get a toque app and read the temp from there. the stock gauge sucks its always up close to the red in the gp's.

if your seeing 212 thats normal reading from a app or scanner.

It doesnt matter if the heat is on or not, the heater core always have coolant flowing through it.

If the rad hose is compressed/sucked in, a bad radiator cap can be to blame.

The middle line on the 05' is about 195 a needle width above is 200 and 3 needle widths is about 212, 221 comes in just before the next line.

Edit: I use the Torque pro app and a BAFX adapter. I bought an eBay one that didn't work but it was a different one than Scotty mentioned.
