Dexron VI or Power steering fluid?

Re: Atf+4 or Power steering fluid?

Ps fluid.
even Chrysler atf+4's low amount of friction modifiers is too much.
for a short term emergency its fine but should be flushed asap.

My 2g eclipse uses the trans fluid in both the transmission and power steering.
For the regal / grandprix I would use exactly what is called for

No harm done when stinking to what the factory specifies. Sometimes there are better things to use, thanks.

Yeah wasn't sure where you were going with this to be honest. I thought because other car makers use the same fluid for some components that maybe you thought it was the same with this platform

i only switched to dex6 after a fresh build. Until then I keep the re filling with dex3

I'll be doing the rack soon and was wondering what's best to use. Going to replace the pressure line, reusing the return line cause it's so expensive to replace.

My G8 calls for Dex VI specifically in the power steering reservoir. Guess it has an Australian power steering system or something.

It's actually not a silly question, in fact I know Ford has a TSB out on several of their models which specify to use Mercon V, rather than P/S fluid in the power steering system (despite what the factory fill / manual says). It wouldn't be out of the question for GM to switch fluids on their models as well.

That said, afaik there is no such change on our cars.... prestone P/S fluid works great for me.
