Is your car still acting funky with the timing?
Multiple threads on multiple issues makes me think your chasing your tail around and GUESSING but hey not my ride....
Or you could answer my questions.... Does it idle? Can you drive it? spray it down with brake cleaner and vac fittings does idle change? hold bbv down and rev it does it build boost? For the love of god don't rely on the factory lego gauge.
I can keep guessing like the 90 other threads you have or you can give us ALLLLLL the info of what has and has not be checked and/or replaced and maybe something will get accomplished out of this abortion.......
LOL talk sh1t about my name that was changed by a mod I'll be sure to have a mod change your to something like "90threadsstillbrokecar"
Well I thought that earlier but it can't be enough to cause this much loss of boost. It does seem to have moved. But I'm actually talking about the end of the snout that drives the coupler. It's aluminum, the pins are steel, the shaft is steel.
the car runs perfectly when not under boost and since I installed the 04' PCM it does not go lean anymore and has not set anymore codes. When I first got the car and it had a 3.4" pulley on it I would get into boost and lay over lean pull timing and go into reduced engine power if I just went through 1st to 2nd gear. It now goes rich when I floor it so I do suspect that sOn my way! "Tuning" was done on the car that was pretty bad.
You said you made alignment marks on the MPS ans shaft. It said you noticed for sure it was slipping on the shaft as the marks were not aligned.
If it's a gen3 , snouts should be dime a dozen. Grab another one
Your doing a fine job blowing up the thread. Go ahead and tell the mods, apparently they haven't a clue as to what's going on either. Bill, Scotty all asked the questions you are asking and I changed parts based on their advice. And you will notice that the thread just goes dead, either because people forget or have no clue what it could be either.
Well if he would have mentioned it or if you would have read one of his other threads he has a stock pulley on it now.FINALLY something sort of almost useful.... car has an 04 pcm so id assume its got a gen5 sc on it correct? on a gen5 a 3.4 on a otherwise stock engine isn't going to live for long. So now let me ask.
What other mods does it have if any?
Previous threads about knock sensors makes me think the car knocked like hell because its a gen5 with a 3.4 on a likely stock engine. Engine knocked and now you have a chipped piston or toasted bottom end. Also which would cause the timing issues because the computer is constantly changing timing to keep the engine running and not knocking.
Gets into boost then lays over and pulls timing and go into reduced engine power. Is there a light on the dash that says "reduced engine power" AKA limp mode....
Sounds like this engines toast and the computer is doing everything it can to make it idle and half-ass run.
Goes rich when you floor it? Likely because its trying to add fuel to drown out the KNOCK!
Don't you see how all these issues are related?
Gee are we actually getting somewhere now?
BTW im not some random asshat troll im trying to help you guy and many members on here have my phone number personally through out the years and ive bought and sold thousands of dollars worth of parts on here even a few cars as well as owned 8 wbodies......... *self disclaimer* LOL!
its a gen V on an 05', I do have several gen 3's but I would have to make an adapter and I saw a genV in the junkyard, I'm going to try to get it Saturday morning and hope it's there.
BTW the supercharger spins fine. I even inserted a dowel into the inlet and tried to turn the puppy by hand and it was tight. There isn't much play just normal for a solid coupler.
Well if he would have mentioned it or if you would have read one of his other threads he has a stock pulley on it now.
Sounds like you've tried most obvious things: Vacuum leak, pcm, etc.
I would get another 3800 and swap it in. Might cost you a little money and half a day, but then you'll know if that's been part of you problem all along. I know you don't want to just throw money/parts at it but at this point this might be the next step.
fixed for you. Or you can chase your tail around and throw parts at it, or pull the damn heads and see if the bottom end is history! But hey what do I know?
No, it's not our responsibility to read through all your old threads to find out what you have done or have not done that is your responsibility to tell us what you have or have not done in the first post of your thread so it is easier for us to help you. You ****ing dumbass. That's BS every other thread I started ended after I posted the information asked for. I posted DETAILED information in those threads. If you really wanted to help you would be reading them.
Crazy, I marked the plastic plug and the pulley, I think it is just vibrating around now, although I swear before I put the 3.8" on it that the 3.6" the shaft stuck out from the hub about 1/16" now it's flush.
I'm going to have to agree with what Tyler said though, previous owner ****ed it up and sold it knowing he did and dumped his issues on J57ltr.
And at this point if I was you I would get onto a computer and try and combine all your other threads talking about this same issue into one thread and pretty much give us the cliff note version of each thread in the main posting with links to your old threads so we have that info and have a mod close all your old threads so that people only respond to your new one and not one of the 5-6, I'm guessing, other ones.
