I wonder if the knock sensor is cracked.

I don't follow the thread close because of the 12 billion pages, so I have no idea what you have replaced if anything.

All the other pages are non-sense and not worth reading. First time I've posted about this issue. Might create a separate thread to not clog up my members ride thread even more.

But, I have not replace any Knock Sensors.

Looks better with the stock tails versus the LED style you had on their previously. Get some LED's from Diode Dynamics in them if you decide to keep the stockers.

I'd to purchase some LED tail lights, that basically look like stock.

But, I'm already a step ahead of you, these stock tail lights already have LED bulbs in them. Reverse, and brake light.

Tinted the stock tail lights to hold me over until I can justify spending $160+ on new LED tail lights. The tint came out great, but I made them too dark. Oh well, these aren't permanent.

They do need a good wet-sand/buff in a few days when the clear cures:









Also painted a friend's Air Dam the other day. Came out wicked:






OH, and I did make an impulse buy on some car parts the other day, should get them in the mail tomorrow. :th_sinister:

No I didnt. Wasn't sure where I could buy some tint that came in a pint size can instead of an aerosol can. I just used VHT.

Well here's the deal friends. Found a good deal on an XP cam, which happens to be my favorite cam for these cars. Decent power, decent sound, and reliable for a DD. Decided to not pass up the deal and figured by selling my Rocker setup, I can almost break even on the extra parts needed to install the cam.

I got it for a cheap price because one lobe has some pitting in it. No big deal, right? Planning on bringing it to a machine shop (sure, i'll lose a tad bit of lift on that lobe, but for the price, it was worth it).

I received the cam in the mail today, and here it is:







Here's the pitting on the one lobe, that I was aware of:


But after further inspection, the pitted lobe also has a flattened area giving it an indent. Hard to see on pictures, but can be felt extremely noticeably. Still brought it to a reputable Engine Shop to see if they can work with it, and even they said, with the indent the cam is now nothing more than a paper weight and won't even try to fix it, because it's un-fixable.

I was completely unaware of this "extra" damage, as I thought it only was pitted. Lost my ass on this one, and sucks as I was looking forward to installing the XP cam in the car. I already contacted the seller to see if we can work something out.

I don't feel comfortable trying to re-sell this cam to someone else, so in that case, I'll probably just hang it on the wall in the garage or something.

I'm not all that upset I won't be installing an XP cam in the car, but more so the communication wasn't there with the seller and didn't notify me about the indent on the lobe. Was even told the cam was "runable." So basically, I threw $90 down the toilet for this one.

And for once, I was actually going to have a "legit" update about installing a cam, but now it's not since it won't be happening. :(

Breaks my heart.

I wanted a choppy idle.

I probably would have bought it.

Really would prefer an XP over anything though, hence why I bought this one. But just didn't work out.

Understandable. I actually got the useable cam from the other owner. I noticed this one (one you have) wasn't anything more then a paperwork with the amount of damage it had hopefully the seller will fix the situation

Did get a hold of the seller. Hoepfully I'll be able to get a refund and ship him the cam back, or receive a partial refund and turn the cam into a lamp or garage ornament. Lol.

An XP Cam lamp, would be pretty legit. Now my mind is thinking. If I do get a full refund though, I may be on the hunt for another XP cam, because I'm now in the mood (so to say), for installing a cam into the car now that I'm so close.

LOL theres an OHC6 stick I've been meaning to make that lamp from since 1980 still leaning in a corner by it's lonesome. Send back or scrap. 5th and esp 6th pic almost looks like it was welded. Somewhere to someone, that probably is run-able in somebody else's ride. Sad tale, I miss a choppy idle too. You'll think of something down the road.

Looks like you and I, are going to get creative to make lamp out of some car parts. Pretty nifty, I'd say.

No choppy Idle for me, makes me sad. Eventually, I'll probably buy another XP cam if a good deal pops up.

On the flip side, I already worked things out with the seller.

Partial Refund, plus I get to keep the damaged cam for decoration. Works for me.
