bad smell coming out of air vents.

I did a quick search and haven't found the thread. I know I've read about it on here. We have a bad smell coming out of air v ents. looking for the remedy. Thanks in advance.
 




Since he didn't post what he drives, I see he made an intro thread with a 98 GTP. Which in that case they do not have filters, correct?
 
No they don't come with one but one can be added.

These little guys are pretty potent and will neutralize a lot of odors within the AC system. This is just one scent. Works very good and lasts a long time.

ac shop my ex used work at used pine sol in a spray bottle, fan on full to vents, then spray at the pass side foot area, this disinfects the vents and makes the car smell like pine big time.
 
Mold on the evaporator.

make sure to shutoff the a.c. a minute or two before you park to allow the water condensate to drain and the fan dry off the evaporator.

Parking with a wet evaporator isn't good once the car gets a mold infection
 


I always shut the ac off when I pull onto my subdivision, leaving just the fan on until I get home. When the a/c worked.
 
yep 98 GTP. and by the way the motor swap is going real good. running like a charm. new gaskets everywhere bolt in plug in and we gone. but all of a sudden my daughter says the air system smells like a dead hog.

if the filter is wet, or was wet, follow that how too and change the deflector there, its like 5 bucks.

Funny this should come up, I just put deflectors in both of our Impalas last night, following that same guide. $3.31 each on GMPartsGiant (plus shipping).

Everyone should do this, when I bought the red car it had a bunch of water in the back seat area.
