I was talking to someone who owned an Audi recently. I was looking at an RS4 for a while or an A4 if I was going to cheap out. I was told to do something simple like "change the thermostat" that you have to basically take the whole front of the car off.

Ergonomics where not considered in the production of certain Audi's. No idea how good yours is though.

We've been giving him **** for getting (or considering getting) an Audi for a week now, he knows how I feel, lol. I know (or suspect) that Bill does quality work, and he'll be capable of doing the work on the car...we'll just hear him ***** about it. He won't ever say he wishes he still had the Regal or anything, he'll just say he wishes he got a Bonneville. I still say he has H-Body tattoo'd on his ass, lol.

Yeah Ive said many times I fvcked that one up. Chalk it up as a screw up oh well I have insurance on both the car and my wife..............

Trust me...he won't ever say he wishes he still had the Regal. He is enjoying his pampering of his ass in that German Luxury.

German cars aren't BAD like you all think, they just have a unique way with fixing things, but its like anything, if it breaks it can be fixed. Besides if it is that much of a headache, its not the end of the world.

Every German car I've worked on is like it was built from the inside out. Once they put the part in the middle, they never think about everything you have to take off to get back to that part. I never said Bill would wish he had his Regal, lol. Maybe for the price of parts and simplicity of maintenance, but that probably about it.

Strictly by observation, I'd say German cars were the first unibodies to take wreck-fixing into consideration during design. Probably because yeah, they like to go fast. They take rust very seriously too. Funny story, two friends of mine were Benz techs and while training in Atlanta I think it was... a guy pops in the classroom wearing flip flops then back out. The instructor explained "Yeah thats Deiter, a test driver. He brings the cars back with more bugs on the side than the front.". Thats the job you need, Bill.

That is the job I need.

All cars are built a little different. GM is probably the most friendly to the new mechanic. Ford can't have a length of wire over 18 inches w/o a connector in it.

Audi/VW while there is no room. The front clip jumps off the car fast and then you have more access than most any other car. And .. learning their ways is neat. Do I miss the Regal, sure do. I wouldn't have cared about the highway department milling the road down, I wouldn't want to park a million miles away from all other jerks that might hit the car with their door and I do miss the knowledge that parts were cheap and readily available.

Do I like the new car... you bet.

The WeatherTech mats and cargo liner came in. I had already put in the drivers mat before taking a picture of them.






This weekend I needed some mulch and ... well off I went to pick it up. (only because of the baller status cargo liner :th_thumbsup-wink:) Four bags of mulch plus a butterfly bush.


Here's the thing I don't miss about the Regal/W-body.. no saggy butt when it anything in the trunk.

Waiting on the owners manuals to help me understand how the car may react to said stunts.. Don't want it holding me back :th_thumbsup-wink:

I have received a lot of compliments on it. Decoded the RPO sticker to find out it has a lot of options and is called Phantom Black

I hope to see a video of you hitting a stack of pallets at the right angle to put the car into a perfect spin in the direction crane's hook to rip a bomb off the bottom of the car, yet land the car perfectly in slow motion.


Oh and the bomb is in a random place that you have only seen in the reflection of a puddle on the ground.
