Lucas Transmission Fix Question

Who is this guy?
The bottle says to add to existing fluid. After further reading online, their website says you can add it to existing fluid because it is supposed to dissolve in the old fluid, meaning you don't need to add or take any old fluid out. This made me skeptical because I don not want to overfill my transmission. I already have a plan on siphoning 24fl oz out to add the fix fluid in, but I don't want to under-fill my transmission if it says it dissolves in the current fluid. So do I add it in without taking out any or suck out 24fl oz and then dump the fix fluid in? And how long could I run my car with low transmission fluid if it indeed does dissolve?
 


Um what? That makes no sense. Its basic physics if you add so much fluid to a container it will take up so much space, it just doesn't magically disappear.
 
Even if it did magically disappear (impossible, if magic were real we would all be magicians), 24 oz isn't all that much. I'd just dump it in without siphoning any out, it's such a small amount it won't hurt anything.
 
Over a quart can and will cause slipping, take some out and check it after and in a few days. Also why are you adding it? Is your trans slipping, have you changed the filter/fluid already, how many miles on trans?
If you havnt changed filter/fluid, do so and if youd like install a transgo shift kit while there. Use a factory filter (transgo kit comes with filter) and then you are putting in fluid use dex 3 and mix 1 quart lucis and 1 quart dex 3 in container to help poor it in cus lucis is like syrup and takes a year to go in.
 
Yes it's slipping. It has 123000 miles on original fluid. Changing it would cause more problems. And what about sugar lol? Same principle, dump some in water, stir it up, gone. So overfilling is alright? And 24fl oz is under 1 quart. I checked.

Fresh fluid is the best thing you can do; burnt fluid can cause slipping. And yes, remove some fluid if you are going to add the Lucas. Too much fluid in the tranny is a bad thing.

My tranny operates much better right after a fluid/filter change.
 
But when it has never had a fluid change in its life, new fluid will destroy the seals and other stuff in the transmission, making more problems. I ended up sucking out about enough to fill up half a bottle of pepsi (bout 10 or 12fl oz) and added maybe half the bottle of the fix fluid. May add more if I feel like it. Car drives and shifts through all the gears, but the shift is a bit delayed now, and I expected that because it is literally running a gel through it right now so all is good. The fluid I took out was almost black hahahaha.
 
Fluid black is not going to be helped much by Lucas... Temporary fix at best. Just be ready for that new tranny.

Yeah I know. The tranny wasn't all that bad. It only slipped when the engine was up to temperature and I gave it some gas, then it would slip. Otherwise normal commute was fine. This was just to help prevent it from slipping or becoming worse in the future.

I'm going to try to make this very simple for you. The car is on original fluid and original filter. the fluid is contaminated by now and the filter is clogged hence the slipping. It is not recommended to FLUSH a trans that has not been flushed every 50k on original fluid because all the clutch pack material is what is keeping the clutch packs engaging. Think of a brake pad with no pad material left. It is however recommended to do a filter/fluid change and keep the fluid that is in the torque converter( aka not flushing) Running dex 6 is not recommended on a old trans because it is thinner, granted it is better in every other way(by %200) should def be used on a new or rebuilt trans. With only 123k your only chance at saving that trans is to drop pan and change filter/fluid. The trango shift kit is recommended because the reason these cars tend to wear clutch packs and start to slip is because picture riding your brakes oh so slightly while also pressing the throttle driving down the road and then finally applying the brakes fully and letting your foot off the throttle. Its gonna wear the **** out of your pads. The shift kit increases line pressure so the clutch packs don't drag persay before fully engaging.
 
Honestly, I'm not too worried about changing the filter or doing a pan drop because lets face it, I'm not keeping the car forever. The transmission can last at least another 3 or 4 years the way it is now. It will be the next owners problem to deal with it. This Lucas Transmission fix is fine in the meantime just so it doesn't slip at high RPM. Now if it was slipping almost every time I drove, then sure I would probably be doing a pan drop and filter change.

Its not going to last 3-4 years if you don't change it.

This is the worst thing for a tranny (other than excessive heat) and will do you no good at all.

You can dream of it lasting that long, but I highly doubt it.
