Ok so car was running like crap dieing randomly sometimes starting up right away other times wouldn't start for a while ive changed plugs, plug wires, TPS, O2 sensor, and coil packs! car is starting up now everytime and haven't had it die on me yet (but only drove it around block a hand full of times) but when I hit the gas hard it almost acts like its hitting rev limiter even though im only at like 40-50 mph! I have the zzp pcm (had for over a year now with no problems) so im not suppose to have a rev limiter so im confused! when I unplug MAF my car idles bad and acts like its gonna die! I can hear the fuel pump turning on!

! my fuel trims are weird_
at idle my LTFT is like -10 and short term is right around 0
if I have it parked and rev it up both fuel trims go negative but if I drive it and hit the gas hard both go positive

you have a cat still? it maybe clogged up.

ever see the tack drop to zero when the car was running? or drop to zero and then stall?

No cat I have 3 1/2 inch down pipe to resonator! And yes a few times while cruise set on highway the tac dropped thought it died then they hopped back up and car continue to go

Icm can be tested at the local parts store.. Have them test it a few times to make sure it's ok. Cps.. Symptoms are what Scotty pointed out.. Won't set a cps.

tach dropping to zero and random stalling is a crank sensor. it hardly ever sets the cel too. its a odd one.

^^^^

Although on my 97 PA my CEL flashes 4 times and the chime sounds 4 dings every 10 seconds and the car runs rough and surges, tach bouncing all over. The code came up as CPS circuit A error or something (I'll have to look it up). I replaced it (after having to have to have to tape the holes for the puller, weird huh?) and had the same problem. I was also getting a missfire #3 and since I had already replaced the plugs and wires about 6 months previously I ended up changing the coil pack. The car ran fine for about 35 miles and started doing it again. So I either have a defective CPS, or a break in the wiring for the CPS.
