• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What do you think about this deal - Craigslist

I'd find a way to check it for knock while I was doing the test drive. I 'd also bet the professional tuner just pulled a bunch of timing so they didn't have any knock, lol.

It's a 04+ so its got a Gen V. 3.6 isn't impossible on a stock setup, just not as believable as on a Gen III.

My 05' came brofessionally tuned with a 3.4" pulley and a set of Flowmaster 2 chambers, and a leaking rack.

Test drive it and plug in an adapter and a torque app while you do. Go WOT and see the knock. If it's more than 3 or 4* i would walk away as quick as possible.

Yeah, either pulled timing or absolutely dumping fuel, I would guess.

Your taking your chance then.. Like with any used car. I suppose you can do at least a compression check.

I am betting money that by "professionally" tuned with a 3.6" pulley, he is meaning that he had a shop install the pulley, and nothing more.

He said he had it done by performanceby joe in st louis and it does 274 at the wheels but he probably meant crank

and take note that everything modded about the exterior of the car screams rookie.
you're right about that. being in KC right now I'm probably gonna skip this one. He said he had a buyer tomorrow. I need to look into getting a scanner

Ain't that the truth. I went and looked at mine and it wasn't in real bad shape it looked like the front had hit something or the paint was low quality. The rack leaked and the car had 136K on it it missed under boost and I figured plugs and wires would take care of that. The AC stopped blowing so I kicked it and the blower came back on so I figured well needs a blower fan. everything was good for the most part then I started finding all kinds of things like vacuum leaks and such. This is a Texas car too so I don't have any of the rust issues you guys up north deal with. I bought the car to fix up and they were asking $4981 I ended up paying $3600 cash. Make sure to check everything you can think of. Things like does the HUD display the correct temp, maintenance records and such.

Mine hasn't, but my scanner we supposed to be here last Friday so I haven't checked. But it's not even really producing boost right now anyway. I ended up putting a 3.6" on since they are out of 3.8"s until May. But anyway it's not knocking.
