So Street and I were out Wheelin in the landy and came across a little treasure

So we were out wheeling last night at about 2am and decided to go down a trail that we are clearing a new trail off of just to check things out (we had been down it about 4 days ago and all was normal)...we got a little ways from where our "project" is and noticed two florescent light fixtures still in their box dumped on the side of the trail...now mind you stuff getting dumped out here is no big surprise, just not use to seeing stuff that looks "new" being dumped...we pass it and I said hey, maybe Bobby could use the fixtures in the shop....so we back up and get out to take a closer look....well Chris is looking at fixtures and I decide to take the mag light and look around the area...I soon notice 3 black trash bags hidden about 15ft behind where the fixtures were...they just on the other side of a high spot/grassy area and not visible from the road....I holler at Chris and let him know then proceed to kick the first bag...Not really wanting to open a garbage bag full of dead animal remains etc....first one sounded like metal, second one sounded the same...third one sounded the same except I heard the distinct sound of a paint can rattle ball....I went to pick that bag up and noticed it was pretty heavy....I told chris I think someone dumped some old paint cans and other trash...and I was going to take a look...well...below is what we discovered (Oh and 98% of the "loot" is new, never used):

And here it is all laid out nice and pretty at Chris's house:

And of course not to be Selfish, un-thankful, heartless, pricks we left them a small token of our appreciation for the nice "Treasure" they left us:

Also found were 3 Abu Garcia Fishing reels valued at about $80-$120 (Total)

Nearest we can figure is someone took them from their place of work, and either stashed them there, till things blew over or got too worried and ditched the stuff, either way, it was dumped on public land and is fair game for the taking. And its not likely we would be able to locate the owners of said property as the area we wheel in is kind of a dumping ground for the entire county.

oh and we had fun sword fighting with the florescent tubes too....figured buying new ones is cheap enough and they surely would have gotten broken if we had tried to take them all back with us...lol

usually kids doing that get the gold or silver paint as it has the highest concentration of the chemicals they get high off of...these would be dangerous before they would get them high....especially the 6 or so cans of paint remover....lol

Actually we really debated driving through Chris's town and putting one in each persons mailbox as a surprise gift....or the mailman would have gotten a surpise out of it when he delivered the mail and found them in every mailbox (probably would have been taken wrong and thought of as a terrorist threat nowadays but if not SURE would have been funny).

If we lit it on fire out there...the entire area would go up in flames...its all a dry tinder box full of dead grass and mesquite trees....that idea really never entered our minds, way too dangerous and destructive.

did I mention Chris is at the moment sanding down a few rust spots on the Landy's ladder and rack and repainting them. :-)

FAIL

Not anymore, lol. :D

But yeah, needless to say it was quite a trip running across two brand new florescent shop light fixtures and then realizing we also had three massive hefty trash bags full of expensive Duplicolor/Rustoleum/etc.. paint. Most of which had never once been sprayed. Well, and three nice fishing reals.
