i should be receiving TDC's intake here soon, but i plan on putting on an SLP cat back exhaust, but, im not very knowledgeable about cars, and yes i have read other posts but i just want to make sure, i have been looking at the zzp pcm's and intense's pcms. first off would it be ok to add a pcm after just an intake and an exhaust is installed? secondly, which pcm is recommended most, i have read on here that both are decent. i dont plan on adding a whole bunch more mods after these if any more, i just want a bit more beef. thanks!

p.s. i have an '03 grand prix gt 3.8l

Hey,

Would be best bet to get a pcm after you're done modding. That way any adjustments can be done to you're pcm for the new parts that you've added.

It will not hurt it to do it before you're done modding or after really.

It would just benefit you most if you did it after.

I would not recomend zzp. I would recomend overkills. Although I have not heard anything bad about Intense's pcm's either.

if all your getting is an intake and cat back, you might as well order one of Will's pcm's at overkill. Cat back exhaust doesn't do anything power wise for our cars.

maybe a dumb question, but do these increase horsepower, or just the throttle response for a quicker take off. i also just read it will disable my a/c under heavy throttle, is that just heavy acceleration, or pedal to the floor? or would that be all the time?

The only way to disable the a/c during driving is to do it by TPS%. It will be effective all the time. And is usually set to around 70% tps. When you get to 70% throttle the a/c compressor will cut off. This is done to make the compressor last a little bit longer since it will not be engaged at high RPM's.

A PCM will maximize you're combo's potential. You will feel a difference and the main things that are changed in the pcm that you will feel is done by tuning the transmission settings.

I did get you're email and just responded. Sorry it took so long.
