fan control relay

I want more heat in the car as my car kicks the high speed fan on at 180 degrees, I put in a 195 thermostat but the fans still keep it around 180..

I have 3 fan relays, fan control 1,2 and 3, which one should a pull so the fans dont go full blast when the engine temp hits 180?
 


Ummm.

My car has a 160* and the heat works just fine.

The fans kick on based on what Will probably set in your file.

You can always pull each one of the fuses and test em; but my car heats up just fine...just have to go out and start it a few minutes before I leave. The rating of the T-Stat is actually 10-15*~ lower than what the car actually runs at anyways, because according to my old aero scans on my blue car and this green bucket of junk...my non-drilled 160* always runs at 172-175*~ once up and going. My blue car sat around 175~ as well cruising. 180~ on a hot day in traffic. Rated temps are a bit misleading. I'd honestly tell you if you haven't, do a full flush of the system.
 
will set the fans to come on at 180
I have heat but being 6 Fahrenheit it could be better
so which relay do i unplug to shut off one fan?

"In low speed mode, "fan cont 1" supplies power to fan 1, then the cooling fan relay #3 routes the power into the second fan, which always has ground on the negative side. Fan relay 2 is off in this mode. This provides half the voltage to each fan, which results in low speed operation (which is quiet). What if one fan stops working and the circuit cannot be completed? The low speed mode doesn't work. But if the engine temperature gets high enough, the high speed mode kicks in. High speed mode will come on any time the engine coolant temperature is too high, not only if low speed mode fails.

In high speed mode, fan relays 1 and 2 are on. Instead of routing power through the second fan, fan relay 3 switches fan 1 to ground. The result is both motors running at full speed, because they are both given the full system voltage.

Aside from expensive transistor controls for the fans (which I can't say I've ever seen in a production car), this is the best way to do it. Many other vehicles that have a high and low speed have two relays. The high speed puts power directly to the fan, while the low speed goes through a resistor that drops the voltage. That wastes power in low speed mode (turned into heat by the resistor), but the worst part is that the ones I've seen turn the low speed off when the high speed comes on. If the high speed fuse blows or there is a problem anywhere in the control system, the fan doesn't run, which leads to overheating when stopped or driving at low speed. Some also have dual-winding motors with the same relay setup (minus the resistor), but the fan still stops working if there is a problem with the high seed circuit when high speed is commanded on.

The 3-relay system can have any one component fail and it will still work, in most cases it functions well enough that there are no cooling problems."

so If I take out the 3rd relay I should be good..right?
 


Car shouldn't overheat just based on fan speed.

You need to address the mechanical issue of: flush your system.

Too much thinking to just do a simple radiator flush and replace with green or universal crap.

Get a new rad cap too.

ps..

Cindy would arrive at 12noon because she crossed time zones and the train was haulin aaaaaaaa, as for the apples, that depends on the coefficient of the variable at a certain temperature given a few deviations.
 




its not overheating, I want the temp gauge to go past 180.

Ill get a flush when I have time, i work 13-14 hour shifts 5 days a week and have to many things to do when I finally get to the weekend.

I want to disable one fan OR make it so it goes only goes in low speed mode and does not kick the highspeed fans on when the temp hits 180

I would change the temp setting if someone local was around to do so, I'm not mailing pcm in and paying for a simple change. then my car would not be driveable either as I have no extra pcm...

if someone could chime in without filling the thread full of nonsense that would be greatly appreciated as I have a 3 month old baby that id like to keep warm when i drive the car until I can find someone to change the tune.
