stage 3 heads or is aluminum worth the price?

Starting a new build on a CompG and was just wondering what is the difference in buying the stage 3 head and cam kit from intense opposed to buying the aluminum heads xpz cam from zzp?

I was set on the aluminum heads until I noticed the price difference between intense racings price for their stage 3 kit and zzps price for everything I need for their aluminum heads and xpz cam. The overall price isn't that much of an issue I just don't want to waste money going thru zzp if the outcome doesn't have that big of a difference from what I can get out of the intense kit.

alum is more of a look what i have imo. dont get me wrong id love to have a set but at the same time its a tough pill to swallow given the price difference of the s3 iron heads.

just my 2c

Is anyone actually running the Aluminum heads? I feel like it's a rare sight to see.

Obviously aluminum has much quicker heat dissipation compared to iron, which is very helpful. But the majority of builds wouldn't even require aluminum heads for the 3800, I wouldn't think.

Buying Intense Stage 3/4 heads will be most likely be more than enough and a better way to spend your money. The aluminum heads would be great to have, but it would be more of a "wow" factor by having them, and something to brag about and just be able to say you have aluminum heads.

* As a side note, Chris Hinson (OrangeL67 on this forum) does port/polishing on heads. Easily the best work done by anyone. The guy knows his stuff. His "Stage 4" heads have out-flowed Intense's Stage 4 Heads. He has CFM numbers to prove it. Pretty impressive. Send him a message on here / facebook / or email if your interested. His work is better and cheaper than a vendor.

while i agree the m90 is terrible....

there's no such thing as a big, lopey turbo cam. blower cams? oh yeah.

the car will never be exceptionally fast anyway...might as well make it sound badass.

if i were building another wbody i'd leave the m90 and run a big cam/heads setup and whatever is the smallest pulley i could run on stock timing.

it'd be quick and sound cool. it'd also stay within a decently sized budget...

i love how many of the "big cam" turbo builds make less power than our tiny duration cam

I built mine to sound cool.

And shake and break everything.

And it did that.

And probably only made 202WHP.

But I agree, snail all the way. I'll never build anything Eaton powered ever again.

Intense heads suck. I have all kinds of pics to prove it.

Zzp's stage 4 iron heads outflow aluminum heads. You have to have the aluminum heads ported to get extra flow over a stock cast head.

The alummy heads were a solid idea, just weren't executed correctly for the money that they wanted for them.
