Just got new zzp stainless catted dp with the magnaflow spun metal cat. Typed in the cat reference number on the cat and found jegs saying it's a PRE Obd 2 (vehicles before 1996). My gp is a 1998 ? Love my new product. Jusr dont want to deal with codes if I get any.

It might, it might not. Hard to say really.

If it does pop up a rear o2 code, likely a P0420 you sould try the "non fouler" trick. It puts the rear sensor further out from the exhaust gases and can cure the problem.

if its hi flow it may. if it does you can try a simulator to fake it out.

or find a local to tune it out, 98 dont need it at all. mines fully deleted, like not plugged in even. but also tuned out.

Cel came on last night. After about 60 miles of having the new zzp catted dp w/ hi flow cat. Havent got the codes scanned yet. Thinking its the p0420 becsuse of the new hi flow cat. Hoping it isnt. Was wondering if i should drive it around to fill up that new cat a lil? If that doesn't work I'm going to use the non fouler trick. As ppl told me it was a fix for the light. I don't want to DELETE the code because i have to take this car to emissions and can't they see that after they plug into the obd2 port? Idk

if you delete the code you still pass inspection. the code is set to no report, so it shows ready.

hell my 98 regals rear o2 is not even plugged in, all codes for it are deleted. shows ready.

id try the fouler trick. 98 are forgiving. it should work for you.

Well guess what. Turns out it wasnt the po420 code. As i was ready to but the sparkplug non fouler. Turns out it was a bad o2 sensor. Downstream, the old one i put back on my zzp dp.
It was the Po141 code. So should i replace both sensors? I only ask because they are both original. And i do not want to mesa with o2s again lol. Lmk. Hopefully when i get the new sensors in I wont get the po420 code haha! If i do thwn i will get the spark plug non fouler hahah

IMO it's best to replace both sensors at the same time due to the fact that they work together. Some people just do one at a time but it's up to you

the 98 rear o2 is there for looks, it does nothing.

go to rock auto, i got my up stream o2 for like 40 bucks shipped. the rear o2 cant be much more. buy acdelco sensors, you cant go wrong with them.

It was a P0141 code. Btw I was thinking of doing the non fouler trick now at the same time. So I dont have to do it again AFTER I out new sensors in. Sound ideal? I thought so lol. What size drill bit do I need to drill it wider? And what exactly is the part that fits the o2 bung for my ZZp Dp. What do I ask for at the counter is what I'm tryin to day lol. And is there anything else that goes with it to put it on? Im goin to my buds exhaust place. We are good friends, and he will ou2t them on like he did with my new zzp dp.
Thx again !

they should be in the help section of the store. help is a brand. if you can bring the o2 in the store to match the threads up. if it dont say what it fits on the back of the package.

the drill bit stick the bits inside the fouler till you find one the same size as the hole on inside to bore out the end.

Thx again. I read it was for all vehicles too. My o2 sensor looks different though compared to the colorado/canyon o2. Their's are flat topped where our are rounded tops?

Would it be cheaper to just have the code deleted? ? Would i be able to just leave my burnt old after the cst o2 in and just delete the code ?? I live in phx az so i need it to pass emissions and inspection not sniffed.
