New looking for some advice..

Hi!
Just joined as I am in the market to purchase a GXP. I had an 04 GTP CompG a few years back but sold it. I have always wanted a GXP, and now is the time. I was wondering if anyone could point out things I should be aware of with the GXP's as in problems with them or anything of the sort?

Also, I have found a local car from a private party. 05 GXP, blue-green crystal metallic with 41,000 original miles on it. K&N cold air and magnaflow catback exhast. I have not contacted the owner yet, but he is asking $12,500 for the car located in Illinois. Kbb.com doesn't allow you to change mileage when bluebooking cars anymore, and it puts the average 05 at 116k for around $7,500. I was looking to keep my price around $10,000, but I couldn't see offering him blue book value considering the mileage. What do you think a good offer would be? Do these cars tend to hold their value? Most I have seen have been between $9000-$12,000 with varying mileage between 70k-100k. Any info would be much appreciated! Thanks!

The trans isn't the strongest, and the LS4 surely doesn't help. First mod I would do is a shift kit and a trans cooler.

Yeah I have read a little about how weak the trans are. I'm not looking to get crazy with this car. Engine will remain stock at this point. I don't plan to be taking it to a track to drag nor do I drive cars all that hard. Not saying with a v8 under the hood the pedal won't get mashed once in a while though. The trans issues scare me a little but I figure with the low mileage on the car I am looking at as long as it hasn't been abused already I should be ok.
