Blew the coolant elbow so I replaced it, filled it up it seemed full then it gurgled and took more which is normal, I can see it about 1 and 1/2" below the neck, over the next 4 days I have come out and added about a pint and half, it gurgles the levels off at the to each time but next day it is down 1 and a 1/2" below neck no coolant in oil, no leaks on ground and no I still have not started it yet ( I am doing some other work while at it,bigger sway bar, f body brakes and stuff.) Anyway where is the coolant going so far it drank a gallon.

You have air in the system. Keep rad cap off start car let it warm up to operating temp then add coolant then use the bleeder on top of the tstat housing to bleed out any extra air, replace rad cap top off coolant overflow tank.

or it over heated and you blew a head gasket and its eating it and smoking it out the exhaust pipe. got steam out the pipes?
