Any advice on straight piping?



It will sound terrible. Don't do it. Get rid of the cat if you want, but replace the resonator with the longest glasspack you can find. You will hate yourself if you straight pipe it.
 
Don't do it. Replace the res with a glass pack, and put in some thrush turbo mufflers if you want it to have a different sound. Listen to how much ass this sounds like in this video. At idle it sounds good but anything else is pure straight up asshole.

This^^^ stock or just replace if necessary. You won't get the sound you want out of a 3800

Oh and did I mention the need for ear plugs when driving down the highway.
I know that Bio that is why I posted them so the op could hear the hideousness that is a straight piped 3800.
 


The only aftermarket exhaust I like the sound of more than stock (excluding headers and such because they don't make much of a difference sound-wise) is the borla cat-back I heard once. Then again, I tend to like any viral exhaust, they just seem to get a happy medium between volume and throatiness.

The Corsa system sounds awesome too, but I don't feel like spending half the cars value on a cat back.
