How to wash black vehicles

just bought a Black Denali Pickup with no scratches or swirl marks and am asking what the best way is to keep it scratch and swirl free as well as the best products to buy to do this.
 


you will see swirl marks sooner or later. invest in a orbital buffer. you spent a load of cash on that truck, now learn to care for it.

my brother runs his pc over his yukon like monthly. truck looks like new still. its a 05.
 
Use a good polish on it when necessary. Black shows EVERYTHING, as you may already know. If you wash it, and there is dirt on it, the only way to get it off is to wash it which will leave tiny scratches, only you wont be able to see them at first, but eventually after enough washes they will show, and then it will be time to re-polish the paint. Black paint is not maintenance free, ever. It all depends on how good you want it to look.
 
Opti cost, cquartz,, and use the two bucket method. Avoid car washes obviously and try not to touch the paint.. You can grab a cheap blower and use it only to dry the car with and make sure you use it only for that. Besides that don't breath around it and don't even look at the paint lol black is a B!

Get married to it. Seriously. Acres of black paint are not for the faint of heart. Zaino, and regular, meticulous maintenance are your only hope. Yes, I speak from the heart.



 


growing up my parents had black and white cars, both showed dirt like mad so fast. i never wanted either color. look at me now lol

black is true work to keep clean looking for sure.
 
I don't know if I like that TA or Dmax more....

I neglect my black car a lot, looks good from afar but far from good looking. I always rinse out my wash mitt as much as I can in clean water before dipping into the soap bucket. Mostly because these dirt roads are nasty.

You can do like my brother does on his $50,000+ black Duramax and not listen to his brother when he tells him to get a Harbor Freight DA (plus some ****) and some Collinite 845.
That would be to much cash..duh
 
My HF DA is still in the box, I haven't felt like laying the moneh down for products and pads. Mostly because I never do anything I say I'm going too.

So you have no problem applying black box but you won't take the time to do a correction which will make your paint look 100x better?
 


Don't have the money for quality pads and products. Least not this month.

Agreed. Invest in a coating. There are so many on the market. Coatings require less maintenance than a traditional wax or sealant. They are also more durable. Some coatings that are popular are opti-coat, cquartz UK, pinnacle black label, detailer's pro, duragloss. Head over to autogeek and research. If you have a pro detailer do it, a coating is expensive up front but cheaper in the long run.
