Hey guys,
I have oil? or power steering fluid? leaking from my passenger side inner tie rod boot. I found a tear in the inner tie rod boot, but is there something else wrong if it’s leaking oil from that tear? What could it be?

It’s a 2001 GP 3.1L V6

not worth it really. find a used one or a manufactured one.

if its just a small leak still you can try some power steering stop leak, that may get you by for a while. but once it starts leak from the boots its just about over.

those boots are dust boots, supposed to be dry inside.

just replaced the rack and pinion unit, ended up buying a used one for $ 40.00, got done today, but started yesterday in the driveway

the hardest part for me was during the removal of the old unit, spent like 4 hours trying to remove the stupid fitting on one of the power steering hard lines, tried every kind of wrench without luck, had very little room to work with, I was fed up, traced the hard line to a rubber line, disconnected from the rubber line instead, so much easier this way, everything lined up for me during the installation

during this job I learned that my stabilizer bar was cracked and broke off inside the driver's side bushing, time for a new stabilizer bar

thanks guys for all your help
