• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Battle Stations!

You can play BF4 on ultra with a 760 so I'm sure it will play Tomb Raider.

Sent from A Galaxy Far Far Away........

But will it really?

I can play BF4 on ultra too. Just no MSAA. TR has some terrible coding going on that one or two features just drag the entire frame rate down. Fool around with the settings, it's pretty interesting.

Its funny how some settings that make lil or no difference visually makes a huge fps difference

It also depends on your monitor setup, and your cable from the GPU to the monitor.

But yeah, messing with some of the AA settings, or Physx will change your FPS like crazy

I always found DVI to be a solid cable to use unless I had a monitor/GPU that had a display port. We should have a thread named *geek thread* hahaha.

Digital signal = no signal or all the signal.

If you're worried about PhysX, very few games support it well. For example, Borderlands 2. Maxed out with just the 580, PhysX does drag the FPS down. Throw an old 460 in there for PhysX and it's party on. FPS is rock solid, the 460 can be undervolted as it doesn't really need to do much etc.

Sorry its the first thing that popped into my head.....

I maxed Borderlands 2 on my 560 Ti just slightly overclocked, it would run I think between 30-50 fps. Been a while can't remember.

Honestly I never understood the reasoning behind having a dedicated physx card anyway unless you just wanna have all the eye candy. Tho I have only a few games that actually use physx they have run without problems.

My current setup:

i7 3930k (Hex core beast)
8gb ram
EVGA x79 SLI mobo (need an upgrade)
GTX 660ti
3 AOC 27in IPS LED displays
Corsair H100 Liquid Cooler
Corsair 900D Super tower

Love it. Love every single minute of it.

To be fair, I mostly play CS:GO now. So hitting things is part luck and part skill.

CS:GO is my favorite. It's the only game I play anymore. Very competitive game play that actually requires skill and team cordination.
I used to play tf2 competively (cal-o) but that game is filled with 12 year olds now and every competitive aspect is now gone.

Hit me up on steam

Old memes... so great.

For Borderlands 2, it's worthwhile. The difference in the fluid effects is great. Granted you have an old card laying around and you just threw it in. I would never suggest spending money for another card just for Physx.

I always had at i cards before this gtx 760 so never really tried physx

Try Borderlands 2. The special damage type effects are pretty cool.

Can't find you on there.

I never said anything about playing tomb raider maxed out, I just said that you should be able to play it.

There are a lot of those 40-50 Nvidia gpus that will work as a physx card.

I have Jomamma on steam.
