My bro is going to purchase a 06 Magnum RT.

It has 30 K on it.

Asking price is $16K

After a trade in a down payment, it will be at $11K final price. 8.9% apr.

The vehicle is white with cream and black interior. Has a few upgrades including nice new tires and rims (oem, not aftermarket bling bling rims) . Sorry no pics or more info at the moment.

Anyone know much about these? It has a hemi. If im not mistaken it is a 5.7L and the srt-8 version has a 6.1L

What do you guys think? Ill get a little more info if necessary, but in general, how do you guys view these cars?

They seem to be pretty nice cars from what I have seen. Great motor. I have the 5.7 Hemi in my truck and putting on the exhaust and intake really woke it up.

Id rock the hell out of a magnum. Nothing like a 400+ hp wagon, once you tinker with it, but a BPU will wake that engine up alot.

How does the car move now? Definitely more pull than a gtp, but how about compared to a LS1?

What kind of mods you thinking? And whats a BPU? (sorry for noobness)

Basic Performance Upgrade, basically intake, headers, exhaust.

Just an intake and exhaust( headers, and all piping/muffler) is enough to really wake the hemi up, the DoD is a ***** but im sure there are tunes to get around that.

i dont think it would take a gtp, cause the new tundra would crush the hemi well not the '09 hemi cause its the same motor but the 345hp hemi, me and my dad raced from a dig and i beat him but it was a verry close race.

stock 4 stock should be a good race. i think.

there not bad. i'd rather have a charger over the magnum by far tho!

My 05 has the 5.7 345hp Hemi. Are you sure your not talking about the 420 hp 6.1 ltr hemi in the 09?

Nope the '09 are using the same engine as toyota the 5.7 it has 380hp and 403ft. lbs trq. If i remembered correctly. I was reading about the engines are the same like dodge made the engine for toyota or something i dont remember but the '09 gets a beefed up 5.7 and they look really nice too.

Yeah, the tundra does have the hemi style engine. They were suppose to be rated at right around 400 hp. I haven't read too much on the 09 Rams. Figured they would go ahead and put the 6.1 in.

I take that back, the 09 dodge 5.7 puts out 390hp and 407 ft.lbs trq. the new Dodge hemi isn't trully a hemi. The head isn't truly hemispherical its polyspherical.

Thats a niiice truck, and dam can it move, it said it can hit 0-60 in under 6 seconds with 4:10's Idk i have a thing for short bed reg. cab pickups.

Wouldnt that magnum rt have the same motor as a charger r/t of that year? the charger rts run anywhere from 14.2-14.5. They are slow for the power that they are putting out. Heavy bastards

doesent your bro have a gto???

I have two brothers :D

Anyway so he did purchase the car. We are all very satisfied with it. Great interior. Rides great. Almost like being in a cave when sitting in the back seat.

The car does get up and go. You are reminded that it does have a hemi when attemting to ask for power on the top end. That is something the GTP cannot do (at leaste mine) until I get some mods going.

Great car all in all. Would like to "de-ball" the car as far as software goes. Would pcm be the correct term?

Anyone know a good chip/programmer?
