06 gp base. occasionally slams into gear from stop.

On my fiances 06 GP base, from time to time when sitting at a stoplight, when you go to take off from a stop it "bangs" before moving. Best way I can describe it is its like theres some slack in the trans somewhere and when you accellerate from a stop it winds back up and jerks into forward motion. Not so hard that it rocks the car but hard enough to make a noise and to not want it to happen much longer. I know theres a search button, and I have searched but found no definitive answers. Just wondering what people know about this. Im not sure what it could be. Thanks in advance.

Finally!! Thanks!! Been looking forever for an answer. Sounds like an input clutch piston based on what ive read. So I guess I know where to start. Might just get her a rebuild kit from ZZP just to freshen up. I read in other posts that you (i think) and billboost can get transmissions swapped in 2 hours. Sure wish you were my friends pr neighbors
 
Bill's the speedy one. he had my old trans out in 1.5 hours. back in and test drove in a total of 4 hours. was a quick day at Bills house.
 
Let's not forget Max was helping!

Scott wanted to prolong it by letting the car cool.. pfffffft bolts come out easy when warm :th_thumbsup-wink:
 


being i rolled into his driveway from a 2 hour drive i thought maybe he'd like to let it cool off some. Bill shot me a look like i had 2 heads lol

max showed up after you had had about a hour solo with my tool fetcher skills at hand.
