Heres the thing, I had a 2010 Malibu 31k miles in which I financed for 380 a month, (i still owed 2 more years) I got tired of making the monthly payments so I sold the car and paid off the loan i owed $8200 sold it for 10,000

3 weeks later (after looking at 15 cars) I then bought and paid cash for a 2005 Grand prix base with 53k miles for 7k

I keep questioning my decision, but now i have no car payment, but at the same time i put a big dent in my savings

Anyone think i made a mistake

Hmm well I wouldn't have picked a base model I would of went for a GXP or GTP etc but hey welcome to the club

No payments and a more reliable (imo) sedan...I think you did good. Plus, even compared to a non-supercharged grand prix, the Malibus I have driven had no balls.

I picked the base because of the price

the gt and gxp models were more money and I hated to go over 7k, plus I take the bus to work

im still getting used to the way it drives and the comfort ability of the seats, personally I think the Malibu was more comfortable, but I do like the power of the grand prix

Welcome to the club. After driving my mom's Malibu, that's not a car I'd want to have.
I'm an hour East of Pittsburgh.

look at its this way zero payments is huge plus the extra 380 a month from no payments now makes room for mod money!!

im in Bridgeville, so your not too far if your east

the GXP's I looked at had a lot of miles, I wanted something with low miles for a decent price

yes the extra 380 will really help out. plus I figure with 53k miles, the car should last for quite some time

I'm still lost as to why you didn't get a GTP....

I'm sure if you shoped around a bit more, you could have found one with decent miles for around 7k

Yeah the low miles are always a good thing, plus its an 05 so no plastic intake gaskets

Wrong! Half of the 05's have the plastic LIM gaskets. This is when GM started to switch to aluminum.
Also my 06 has plastic gaskets but that's due to the stupid previous owner taking out the aluminums and also putting in toyota coolant, like that was gonna save the ****ty ass ****ing plastic gaskets. I will be changing out my gaskets this weekend tho
