• The site migration is complete! Hopefully everything transferred properly from the multiple decades old software we were using before. If you notice any issues please let me know, thanks! Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

Need some turbo info.

Re: 500+ WHP Pump gas build up (Pic Heavy)

email PRJ. he would have a good idea on what to use for good results, if it's even needed.

Re: 500+ WHP Pump gas build up (Pic Heavy)

What is a bap? Boost a pump?

I'll be running a racetronixs pump and planned on getting the upgraded harness. Is that what you ment or did you think i was still going to use a stock pump?

Re: 500+ WHP Pump gas build up (Pic Heavy)

He may already have some?
If your getting/making the stattama intake, aftermarket fuel rails might be something worthwhile

I am at some point. And yeah i didn't plan on selling them.

Re: 500+ WHP Pump gas build up (Pic Heavy)

boost-a-pump = BAP. youre probably going to need one with the e85.

You could try it out, but with E85 and the power level your running with 65# injectors, you might be running into fuel pressure problems even with a racetronix pump. I could see it being ok with pump gas, but E85 and over 500hp takes a good fuel system. Not too familiar with boost a pump, but it seems to be a popular choice for w-body's as the idle fuel pressure is kept down and then it helps out in upper rpm ranges. Either talk to matt m about that or some of the minnesota guys like dave running E85 with over 500hp.

Where in the hell do you get gm head gaskets from I figured gm used fel-pro Are they just stock factory replacements???

Do you not think fel-pro's would cut it?

Just to confirm this fuel pump rewire from zzp is the same as a bap correct? Or no?

Re: 500+ WHP Pump gas build up (Pic Heavy)

I heard he is suppoed to be comming out with a better 3rd clutch setup here soon because of some of the wot 2-3 shift problems some people have with high boost levels.

One 12 clutch 3rd setup is on the road currently and 14 clutch 3rd setup in the works. I have seen 12 clutch setups before that guys have tried in these transmissions and the clutches are coned and burnt every time because there just wasnt enough thought put into it. Extra clearances have to be made to parts to make this work right, otherwise you are forced to machined down the 3rd pressure plate too thin and it warps. I am using a full thickness 3rd pressure plate with 12 frictions. Every Raybestos Zpack I have seen in a big power car has failed because the clutch pack is not the problem, it is how the trans is built and as I have mentioned many times over the years I have not found a need for one. Also they claim NO or LESS coning, every trans I have seen with 3rd clutch problems had a terribly coned Zpacks-just in the opposite direction of a stock setup because the clutch pack is upside down. As mentioned in an earlier post in this thread there is more to holding power than a shift kit and there are already things changed in my transmissions to accomodate this. I use a near out of the box Transgo shift kit, not completely blocked accumulators like what most all other trans builders do. Feeds must be opened and higher pressure is needed and that is nothing new to the automatic trans world and one thing I find very shocking and lack of in just about everyone elses high performance or race transmissions. I cant say I have a lot of transmissions out for cars making over 500whp so I dont have the time I would like to have to back up what is needed to make them survive in this environment but it can be done. There was a time with the 700R4 and 4L60Es were dogged by anyone making over 350hp and tossed for older 3 speed transmissions. Now I have several of those running in the 10s and 11s reliably and there are a lot out there from other builders in the 9s. The fwd crowd hasnt been in the game as long or with near the HP yet so improvements will always come with more time and testing just like anything else. It is hard to have your cake and eat it too with a high HP car but since these are electronically controlled it does help the drivability end of things. High HP means things will break and that is life, it is just part of the game and something you have to expect and budget otherwise you just get mad and end up broke and aggrevated. Getting your combo right may take some time and mean broken parts but be patient with it and Im sure it will exceed your goals

Re: 500+ WHP Pump gas build up (Pic Heavy)

I Have Kalo' s old Stattama Turbo kit w/ A2A ic kit + 65# injectors for sale in the sale section. Took his impala to 10.09 w/ 600 FWHP

PM if you want some of the stuff

Re: 500+ WHP Pump gas build up (Pic Heavy)

I already posted in the post about the injectors. :)

Would rather spend 800 dollars more (on new Precision intercooler and custom piping) and have everything new then use a turbo that has had who know's how many passes pushing 22lbs of boost. But thats just me.

2 dyno's and 3 track passes with over 20 psi

No, they are not the same.
The fuel pump rewire will hook up to the BAP. Both are needed. Tho i might skip the ZZP rewire. The caspers fuel pump hotwire/rewire is alot higher quality rewire and already has the right connection to hook up to a MSD boost-a-pump.

X2, ZZP's really is just a couple wires and the right connnector... you almost pay to find out it can be made by yourself:th_shakinghead2:

You may want to get in touch with a few more people on clubgp or ask matt if the 65# injectors will cut it, even with a BAP on E85. This setup may go more than 500hp from the stuff your listing. Just have that extra cushion is all I'm saying.

Re: 500+ WHP Pump gas build up (Pic Heavy)

Bad news. Build is off due to the fact that the buyer did not come through and broke his promise. And to the fact that that extra 2-3 thousand dollars is going to be put twards my first truck. Wich is a 2500HD 4x4.

I guess it was good dreamin. Now onto the new m90 build. Should still be fun.

Re: 500+ WHP Pump gas build up (Pic Heavy)

By the way thanks everyone for all the helpand info that you guys taught me. It was all very much appreciated.

Re: 500+ WHP Pump gas build up (Pic Heavy)

With the new M90 build, are you going to have anything for sale?
