The Big Bad Brake Thread

OR you drill/tap the fbody bracket for the right bolt. Mine were done this way. The impala calipers are steel vs. the fbody's aluminum ones, so unsprung weight would be a little bit more but otherwise similar. Impala/fbody rotors are interchangeable for the 12" options so there is no difference there.

I forgot to add this but I got new bolts from the HELP isle at Oreilys with new washers and they worked out fine on my GXP brakes.

I wonder if just using new washers but using the thickest ones can work...I think it will

Hmm, I was thinking today. If the Gen5 Camaro Brembo Calipers bolt right up, wouldnt the 6 Piston CTS-V Calipers bold right up as well?

Zl1 camaro calipers are probably the same as the 6 piston V calipers. i have a pic of my car with ZL1 6 pistons bolted on the front. I have no idea what you would run for a rotor or wheels though.

Well considering what your going to put into getting ctsv rears to bolt up not worth it. Might S well just stick with stock rears since the fronts do more then enough.

I was consiering the CTS-V/ZL1 Six Pitons up front but as Anthony said, I dont think we have a rotor that would fit. I believe that the CTS-Vs and the Camaro ZL1 Six Pistons are exactly the same since people have been bolting the CTS-V Six Pistons up to their Camaros with no issues.

Yup then you'll have to do some r&r vs doing the standard ctsv 4 pistons that have been researched and done several times before. How much is to much brake power. After all it is a fwd GP.

Rears won't be easy.. look in the cts-v thread me and a couple guys were trying it.. only one got a bracket made and actually finished the project lol
