My 97 GTP is too low, and I need to raise it about 2" in the front and 3" in rear. It bottoms out occasionally, and sometimes it scrapes going in and out of the driveway.

Are there spring spacers available that mount to the top and bottom of the springs.
Taller springs?
I do not want softer springs.
Suggestions?

If you own the car for a while now then I'm guessing your shocks and springs are shot and you need a replacement. Monroe quick struts work fine, are easy to replace and aren't crazy expensive, ~$115 per quick strut. Or KYB for ~$130 per strut plus online. Also, try to keep the car lightweight especially now that you're this low.

Thanks Gents. I use the car for business, and must keep about 200 # of various things in the trunk.

4thGenCamaroFan: mine is about 2" lower than yours - same purple color. The saggers on it now are two year old Monroe struts, and plate kits, with new springs by Thunks-A-Lot....

I am wanting taller springs, and possibly a spring spacer if anyone knows of one. Will probably go to KYB AGX struts for a quiet ride, as I drive clients around in it occasionally.. Have heard that 98 Olds Intrigue springs will raise it, and if so, does anyone know how can I order them over the net?

Will quieten and level the rear first, then attack the front. Thanks to you all

Wbs has stiffer or taller springs for the rear I think. Could help combat all the junk in yo trunk. Along with new struts all around should help if they are worn.

rear intrigue springs will raise it up compared to stock.

the front, you might be SOL.

dont bother throwing money at AGX struts, just get the GR2's.

Parts arrived from Parts Geek and i started on the rear.
-First changed the sway bar links first; which stopped most of the 'thunking' in the rear.
-Then changed the brake pads to ceramic; stops nicely.

As Bio248 suggested, I got the Olds Intrigue springs, along with KYB AGZX struts, KYB strut mounts, insulators & bellows. The car now sits about 2 inches higher, and does not bottom out in the rear. All the thunking is gone from the rear and the ride is much smoother. We live in Abilene, Texas, and our roads are not good. so this is a nice change.

There is a lot more noise in the front, so it is next. The lower control arms are new. I pulled the GMPP swaybar off and put the factory one back on, with rubber bushings. That helped some, but it still thunks up front at dips, and at road expansion joints.

Question for the forum: What all should I replace on the front to stop the clunks? I know the struts are bad, but i think the springs are good. Strut bearing plate? Tie rod ends?

Replace the the front struts probably, if they have a lot of miles on them might as well get it done. Then just check tie rods and other bushings to make sure non are going bad.

good to hear you're satisfied with the rear setup. not many people go in the direction of raising the car, but some people do need/like it.

i would never replace the struts on the car without replacing the upper mount (bearing plate, as you call it). those are the main culprits for clunks unless it's the actual shock valving knocking around in the body.
