I was at a light when a loud mouthed pony pulls up behind me with slicks on we both stopped at the red light which has now split into 2 lanes, im now next too him. Looks like boost gauges he has, light turns green and he guns it, didnt kno he wanted too race he now has half a car length on me, i immediately WOT and pull past him with ease, question is why does my pretty much stock v6 blows a v8 rated at 300 horses nd looked heavily modded.

Chances are that wasn't a Cobra R, either that or he let off the throttle after he realized you didn't launch with him. Then you hit him with a ricer fly by :th_jester:

You're talking about one of these right? Most cars on this forum wouldn't keep up with it......and that's a stock one.

87IROCZOWNER posted a picture of the 2000 Cobra R, 300 of these car were produced, all in red. Rated at 385/385, though many believe they are underrated and are actually closer to 425 hp.

This is the 95 Cobra R. 250 of these were produced, all white. 300/365. It is more believable that your GTP has the ability to run one of these down with "ease", than that you encountered an actual Cobra R in the first place.

This is the 93 Cobra R. 107 of these were produced, all in red. 225/265, though many believe these were underrated as well, the notion derived from various stock dyno numbers. IMO, this is the only Cobra R and stock or mild bolt on GTP has a chance in hell with in a straight line.

So, which one was it?

My guess is that it was just a mod motor 94/95 5.0 GT40 business...a 96-98 modular Cobra could have been the possiblity too.

Both would be a reasonable race.

All the R's however, I highly doubt.

Or, 2V lulz with exhaust on a 99-04 car that has a Cobra R look alike kit on it.

How many Mod motor 'Stangs did you see in '94-95, Dingus Khan?
