What did you do to your Car today?

ase certified means jack sh it these days. the dealer mechanics are all certified and they all for the most part suck a dick in my book, around here any ways.

i know not everyone is a dickhead, but most around here are. i had a shop tell me i needed new lca's when they were no more then 3,000 miles old. lol i looked at him and asked why they were shot? mind you he only looked at them i was standing there, no pry bar was used to see if they were bad or not. he had no real answer, but stated they were rusty lol ok fella. your a jerk off. they then did the worst alignment ive ever had done, it was out of spec for every wheel by a lot. and almost killed the new front tires they had just put on.

Even my uncle, who is ASE certified (has to be for his job) said ASE certification is BS.

I may have broken something today.. My dash says Tire Low.. All my tires are fine..

easy does it with broken stuff fellow regal owner.

pop the fuse panel door off, pass side dash, theres a red reset button, car running, hold it down for 5 seconds, the light will go off.

for that light to go off you need a tire to drop like 15 to 20 psi, or rotating the tires will set it off too. theres no tps in the wheel, im not sure how it knows a tire is low lol

The way I understand it with the pre-TPMS cars is the wheel speed sensor can tell when the tire is low due to reading rotations of each individual tire.

ive had slow leaks. like over night. start the car and the damn lights on, then take a walk around the car to look for the low tire. this is before it even rolls. and was parked with no light.

Drove it to and from work. Thought about washing it, but decided not to. Maybe in the morning...
The work "mud" parking lot and dust from all the semi traffic and corn bee's wings is not friendly to keeping a car clean.

Oh and today my boss got his new work truck. So next week hopefully I get to drive it some when we go out signing contracts. It's a '14 Silverado, nothing special. It's the basic work truck package with the V6. But it does have power windows, locks, seats and even heated mirrors, along with a vinyl floor. Which I guess when your in and out of muddy fields half the year, it's exactly what you need. I've been driving past it when I go to the new house for the past couple months but I haven't seen it up close yet. The newer bodied Chevy's are slowly growing on me. I'm anxious to see how those new projector headlights in those trucks work. Not like I'll ever be driving it at night to know the difference.
Apparently the basic package is a thing my boss likes...they made him get power locks and windows this time. His '05 Silverado (217k miles) doesn't even have cassette...luckily it's at least got cruise control. So maybe when time comes and I have a truck, I can get a little bit more options.

those rubber floors are the best thing ever for a work truck. you would kill a rug in no time. pretty sure its a w/t thing gm does. both of my gmc's had it.

My brother has a Silverado "work truck." It's quad cab, pretty basic, but he does have power windows and I am pretty sure has a CD player. It's not bad, other than being a GM. :p

I heard the OEM projectors suck, but read on TRS that the FX-R or one of the projectors will slide right in without opening the housing.

Well they would be halogen projectors so not much can be expected but just like any car a retrofit can be performed and bam... Fantastic light output

Yeah the vinyl in the '05 is nice, I hate to admit. Makes sweeping it out a breeze.
This one is a quad cab, but it's a smaller quad? I forget the technical term they gave it. You can definitely tell it's shorter back doors tho. I had the spec sheet on it but apparently wasn't paying enough attention because I couldn't tell you if its got tape or cd. I did hear Fred say its got the bigger radio display, not sure if its the new touch screen or not. I'll get to see it on Monday. He was talking about getting steps added to it, hopefully that happens.
200k miles later and there will be a new truck rolling in. He put 5k on the '05 since mid January. Heck he did 1,000 miles this week alone.
