99 GT HID Headlamps

Hi Guys,
Just picked up a 99 Grand Prix GT 2 dr and was less than impressed with the headlights at night compared to our '08 Avenger. Any upgrades up to or including a badass set of HID's that can be done for under $500?

Thanks!

Yep just put in HIDs in the stock housings make sjre to aim them down so you dont blind everyone. If yours are currently leaky and foggy buy some new ones on ebay and re use the old mounting brackets. But if you have 500 bucks to spend retrofit is the best and will probably beat the output of your avenger. Classy Pontiac makes retros starting at 375 I belive. Then just add an HID kit.

Well he does have a point. I would just go retros. They look better and the light output is amazing. But I'm in the HID's in stock housings club, I forgot to mention going that route you lose high beams.

Well time to do the mod is a factor for me as I work a ton of hours 7 days a week usually. The electrical part is a breeze for me but the headlight mod would take more time than I have

I ran HIDs in stockish headlights for over a year till I got my retros. That is a HUGE improvement in light output, but it is no where CLOSE to the light output of retros.

I try to be fun.

You won't miss your high beams if you put HIDs in your factory lights because it's like driving around with your high beams on all the time.

And that's what it'll be like for all the other cars on the road, like you're driving around with your high beams on all the time, very blinding.

I read up on here for a couple months, and retrofits are the only way to go. Order from Classy, I did. He uses Morimoto products from TheRetrofitSource. Search those 2 companies anywhere on the net and your mind will be made up for you.

It's not THAT bad. HIDs in stock headlights are not the best way to do it, but it does work.

Ok cool thanks. Moving on from there, this dash doesn't seem I cooperate in putting my kenwood deck the way my grand am did. Anyone have a play by play on that?
