Need new 2001 Grand Prix GTP front wheel hubs

Hi guys, this is my first post on here so I hope I have it in the right forum. I have a 2001 GTP sedan that needs new front hubs, and I've found that I need to know what kind of clips the sensor has(stainless steel or plastic) so I can order a set. Does anybody know what ones I should order or do I need to crawl under the car and look. and is it that obvious to which ones I have when I talk a look? and also are the cheap hubs on ebay that bad for a car that already has 240,000 km and probably will never see 300,000 km? What ones should I get?

Thanks

Iv used timkin pretty good brand others reccomend them. They are like 91 a pop on rock auto. Worth it imo so your not replacing it again in another 5k or so because of cheap eBay ones.

Timken or SKF.. W/e you decide to buy them make sure they come with at least a 3 year warranty. Fact a you'll probably be replacing them a few times on a Wbody.

Thanks for the reply, Ya that's the vibe I'm getting as I search around Napa here has a $220 one and a $120 one, not sure of the brand. I think the SKF one was the $220. I'll have to find out.

What about the steel clip or the plastic clip? Which one do I need?

Never heard anyone ask about a metal or plastic clip before.

The plug in (connector) for the sensor to the wire harness that runs on the control arm into the body is plastic, there is a metal clip that is on the knuckle/caliper area to keep the wire away from the rim.

SKF is one of the best, but cost alot. Anything with a warranty is good, hopefully what you can find lasts atleast 15-30k miles.

58 bucks for both on ebay from Detroit Axle. Detroit Axle started in the early 1900's as Timken-Detroit Axle and they made Detroit Axle a separate company in the 60's due to union problems. I got mine from them. Fast shipping, perfect fit works great

I've always wondered this myself as RA lists 2 different hubs one says first design and the other says second design, one has a plastic clip and the other has a metal clip I forget which one is which.

ya I've look into the plastic vs steel clips some more and Im still as confused as before. I called down to my local parts store and they said they only list one hub for my car, but they aren't sure what kind of clip it has. Wow $58 for 2 is about $400 less than I'm gonna pay. Thanks for the replys.

And all that the clip does is secure the ABS wire connector to the bracket that keeps the wires from hitting anything. Both of the hubs are the exact same just that clip is different and its only for holding the wires in place. You could technically use the clip that's on your current hubs if you have to.
