Oil pressure monitoring

Something has been disconnected on Halfassery that is causing my AeroForce to have a false oil pressure (none actually) reading.

Since the level sensor has been removed from the pan, I'd like to get this fixed in case of a leak or something.

thoughts?
 


thats the low oil sensor. and why is it missing? that one is in the front of the oil pan, bumper side of the car.

the pressure sensor is in the oil filter housing.

Dude removed it to install a line that returns oil from the turbo.....Looks like CRAP too.
 
nothing like making a new hole and using a fitting to seal it off ehh?

check if the oil pressure sensor is plugged in. if you have a oil pressure gauge already it maybe unhooked.
 
Aeroforce can't read oil pressure.

Unless they have a special harness and add on for a oil pressure gauge. The factory pressure gauge on the oil filter housing is just a dummy sensor to let you know the motor is dead.

Oh brother.......So, I have no way of Knowing if the oil gets low........WONDERFUL........ "HALFASSERY" is THE perfect name!

BTW, I do not have a factory oil pressure gauge......
 


It's just how the 3800 is, as with tons of other motors. The oil light on the dash is just there to warn you of low oil pressure and that something is wrong, and in the end the motor is likely toast.

add a oil pressure gauge, get one thats 2 in one, like volts or something. takes up less room in the pod, if theres any left, if not, dash pod time.


me i have no clue at all. i took the low pressure sensor out and plugged the hole with a brass plug. i blew 3 of them up, wasn't going for a 4 th.
 


that sensor is not really needed, just check your oil often. the one in the front just tells you its low.

the pressure sensor that sob dont turn on unless its down to 5 psi or less, and its way to late by then.

I kinda wondered about that.....It's mounted awfully low in the pan. By the time it gets that low, it's all over...............
 
Why not just be diligent in checking the oil once a week? If you have to rely on sensors for stuff like that, it will be too late to save it.
 
^ That's the point of the low oil level light, to warn you before it's too late. The low oil pressure switch light means it's too late.

The low oi level sensor is a nice thing to have, the engine can keep oil pressure with like 2 quarts of oil minimum and it will warn you if you're down to like 3.5 quarts. Plenty of cars with no low oil sensor blow up because it was sucking air and eventually dies, apparently not enough to trigger the low oil pressure light, which is like they said, a dummy light meaning the engine's toast. Checking the oil often won't always ensure you either, if the oil pressure switch blows out it dumps oil, and fast. So that's why I like it.
