Also, I'm still working on things like chatbox, etc so hopefully those will be working in the next week or two.

What is best for my car?? In a pickle..

that year engine will work. but keep shopping for a running engine, you already have a messed up one, why you want two?

rebuild costs are retarded vs a running used engine.

SO...fix the 2 problems you have. my suggestion would be to buy the 06 motor (if it's complete) since it is so cheap, and use the supercharged top end of it on your car (gen V top swap). if it were me I would pull the motor then fix everything just to make it easier on myself, but I don't know your mechanical skills or vehicle situation. keep in mind there is some custom work to be done with the gen V swap

Ok so I happened to stumble across a 06 gtp motor. For 150. Needs rebuilt. What would I need to fully motor swap over to my 03? Obviously a tranny from a 04 and up right? Wiring harness engine mounts. Is there any goofy thing that would inhibit me from swapping the motor over??

Swap all exterior items from your engine to new engine...bolt up to your trans. Drive vehicle. However, just find a good used engine for $500-600 and call it good because you're going to spend a sh!t ton rebuilding and it's unnecessary.

Thank you for your input. I was unaware of how much a rebuild would cost. What makes it so expensive ? Only thing I'm worried with doing a top swap is my transmission. 194k on the car. Runs perfect. Shifts smooth. I'm only the second owner and first owner was a older woman so it's been driven pretty conservative. I don't have a fast car so I don't race car it around. And my family and I are perfectly capable of doing it. Brother is a certifie GM mechanic. Other brother already rebuilt a 3800 motor for his
lesabre t type. Which is still on the engine stand haha. And my dad is just a old head with cars. Taught himself. Still has his toys too.

More of the problem with transmissions going out in cars has to do with the way people drive them and take care of them than the transmission itself having issues. If you are always hard into the gas especially from a stop and then never do any maintenance of course the tranny will go. But if you drive nice and take care of the tranny it should last you a while. Except the 4th gear clutch hub splines. Those are junk.

If you were in my possession would you feel safe with a top swap? 194k on trans but I'm only second owner and the first owner was a older woman like I said who babied it. (The owners never used the floor mats, that's how picky they were about the car) and I drive it conservative to. Never try to go above 3000k Ron when driving.
