Tie rod end Just pop out after you remove cotter pin and nut?

Ok i had cast iron spindles stock on my car. I swapped to gen 2 brakes. The iron spindles do a thing called RUST. Also both of the new spindles together weighedLESS than one of the smaller stock spindles
I highly doubt they are aluminum. They are cast iron if anything.

where is this going? so if its a stock car STEERING KNUCKLE is made of cast what then? we all know its cast metal.

the price of a solid steering knuckle made out of al would be through the roof, and then some.

mine have rust on them, so i think its cast iron. but ill stick a magnet on there for the hell of it.

if it is al, its cast aluminum. its not aluminum in the solid block form where i'd not hit it with a hammer. cast is not the same as a spun block.

Pretty sure 03 and older GP are cast steel\iron.

Beatting on the side of the spindle to pop ball joints and tie rods has always been the way i've done it with no problem. Hitting the threaded part on the tie rod if your going to re-use it you not only mess up the threads but chance bending it.

Mite wanna check the dorman cataiogue for 97+ spindles. Before you get too excited on iron being listed as the material, read the description. Say s it replaces the weaker stock ALUMINUM spindle

If they're stock and you have a high mileage car they might be a *****, beat on it with a hammer for about an hour and couldn't get it (6'3" 275 lbs) so i went and got a pickle fork for $6 and change and popped that ***** off real quick
