If I knew how to do it, or that it could be done, I would be all over that as that is a fantastic idea. However, after a period of time I think people would just ignore it or even come to view it as a nuisance.
Fosh, I like your idea but lest we also forget that character also plays a role too. Peoples inward checks and balances that would tell one, what Im getting ready to submit might reflect badly on who I am, what I believe, what Im about, etc.
Theres all kinds of things that can be done downstream of a process but ultimately it takes a correction at the source to be most effective.
I rely a great deal on the members that come here on a regular basis to police the forums as well and to point out things that I may have missed, flag posts, stuff like that. Furthermore, if anyone sees that I have not treated one person the same an another, I expect that to be pointed out as well, I am human and as fallable as the next person. That said, however, situations and circumstances can change just enough to warrant a bit different action. I also try to take into account whether or not the person has been a member in good standing or not, have they been contributing to the community as a whole and whether the particular event that has been deemed needing attention or action is an isolated thing due to a bad day, that sorta thing or if it is a repeat of a continuing pattern.
You have to look at things from the close up view and from the big picture as well.
