Further degradation of the 3800 scene.



Ya'll thought I was what's wrong with this community because I like to run my mouth when someone challenges my view/opinion and I know what I'm talking about.
Then you have this whole other class of clowns out there...
 
I watched all this go down on the FB page the other day. It's a shame so few people can be trusted to run an honest business and not try to rip you off. I may have to steer away from the wbody store from now on to prevent paying too much for cheaply modified Chinese crap. I'm glad I've always like Intense the most out of all the 3800 vendors lol.

On another note, that FB page is full of stupidity. It's good for my daily entertainment. Thanks for the heads up about the Chinese crap SnowFlake.
 
even if the headers are 100% made by that company in china.... its likely mikes leg work and constant feedback that got those chinese hacks to weld together something that can actually bolt on without denting tubes and grinding the trans case.

now you can wait another few years for all the crap bulk purchased QC rejects from the previous 6 years of manufacture to all get sold off of ebay so those ebay sellers will buy a newer "fixed" batch....or you can buy the fixed headers from mike now....

and lets not get into the whole in-tents/wbs/zzp argument...but regardless yes...**** bookface.

I purchased SSAC headers (same as SD) in 2008 for $250 shipped and ran them without modification for 4 years.
Why anyone would spend nearly 3x that for the same headers with a TOG style down pipe is beyond me.

ok after reading all this I have a few questions... I didnt notice anyone mention any specs.. Such as primary diameter and such. Not that it 100% matters just wondering.. Also if this was mentioned on FB i missed it due to not being a member of that group anymore..

Same here. I used SSAC's on my little brothers GTP and I did not have to mod anything on them. I say it went pretty smooth considering it was my first time installing headers.

I say if you want headers just buy the SSAC's and if the Ubend bothers you then go ahead and take it to an exhaust shop and have them modify it for you.
 


He bought them... as long as he is happy, I suppose.
Good call on those headers being copies of knockoffs, I saw that discussion go downhill.
Some people will disagree and fight you because they don't want their illusions destroyed.

thats because quality takes time and is expensive
more than a few of us have made our own pipes...

fully fabbed my whole hotside on my WaGN...all primarys at 24" +/- 1/4" and the secondary's are equal length as well....id estimate i have about 800$ in everything and countless hours.

...i dont think anyone would want to waste that $ fabbing headers for a sc build....
 
I'll be making turbo headers on my next turbo setup. I anticipate it will take a very very long time.
But it'll be so worth it.
 
I kind of laugh at you people crying about price markups, not using chinese parts and claiming as your own, but the price markup. As a business owner myself you NEVER let anyone find out what YOU make, or you get into deep **** with a. customers b. employees. Mark it a high as you can as long as people keep buying. You would all **** yourselves on the some of the things you buy if you found out the actual cost.

I dont know any business owner out there that says ah 30% markup is all I need, thats a hobby not a business then.

Oh... I am 100% complaining about the touting of quality and the use of the same chinese headers that SD sells.
It's lazy, disingenuous, and an insult to the intelligence of customers.
If people still think they're worth $600 after they know this fact, then I have no issue if they want to buy them.
 
Ok I shall ask again and pardon my ignorance, but are they in fact the SAME headers as the SD/SSAC headers? Do they have the same primary diameter and such?
 
If they are then I would say yes. If they are just copies then idk. Someone should pm that guy and have him measure them.


-Edit- Going from the specs off the website the W-Body Store ones are 1.75" Primarys SDs are 1.5 are SSACs still 1.75"?
